Tickets arrived ! Can not wait I wondered if he would come back to Glasgow tbh . So thankful he has !
A little surprised he isn’t doing 2 nights , he’d have sold them both out easily .
Ive listened to a couple of YouTube bits from concerts he’s done in Europe in the last week or so , and he’s sounding really good
3rd time I’ve seen him in Glasgow , along with one in Liverpool and London .
never thought I’d get my 10 year old boy Joel to see him . He’s Beatles / Paul daft , and for us this is a dream come true
This is the first Glasgow show since 1979 that has sold out - that's why he's not doing 2 nights because he couldn't guarantee that night #2 would sell out.
The Secc In 90 was a sellout . Hampden In 2010 was practically a sell out too . Given Hampden holds over 50 000 and the hydro sold out in minutes , I think a second show would not have been a gamble !

It'll be a memory Joel will always remember. I've never forgotten the memories of every show I've been to. Especially when my mum took me down to London to see him when I was 12. My parents thought that I would only see him once
Lovely post mate - I certainly thought Hampden 2010 would have been it !

Paul has chosen not to play Mull Of Kintyre on his only Scots show in 2018.
His decision emerged after Kintyre Schools Pipe Band asked if they might join him on stage to perform the hit.

I hope they're wrong. Maybe not them, but the Loretto pipe band will be playing with Paul again
You know they will be for sure ? Hope so !

Hampden wasn't a sell out and they were (allegedly) selling tickets for £5 on the day to get punters through the door to fill out the empty seats.

Yeah, Hampden wasn't a sellout but it is significantly bigger than the Hydro. But he can definitely do two nights at the Hydro. Even if the 2nd night doesn't sell out it will still do really well

Guys , I did say Hampden was practically a sell out . I was there , and I saw one tiny pocket of seats ( around 100 tops ) that were empty . That means there was easily 50 000 there . The hydro holds 12 thousand? I think it’s safe to say he could have sold it out at least twice . ( I never heard the £5 ticket story either )
his new album sold well in Scotland . I’d also argue there’s a higher demand for a Paul McCartney ticket in Scotland in 2018 than there even was in 2010 ...

I didn't hear of any £5 seats either, surely they would've done 2 for 1 but Hampden is very hard to sell out. I agree he could easily do 2 nights at the Hydro. Along with an extra night at Liverpool & London

Exactly, these pumped up "instantly sold out" stories don't align with my experiences in the past 10 years for massive events like this: always dump prices on the day itself, initally blocked sections easily available at the box office, touts already made their money and getting rid of endless of tickets for low prices, fair secondary market (like Twickets) blooming. It's a rigged system.
And yes, even (especially!) for something like the Liverpool shows. I said this often before, but back in 2015 I couldn't get rid of my great spares for the life of it, sold them for 50 quid at the door. Not much buzz either. Didn't make it any less special for fans to be there, mind.

Arrived in Glasgow, crossing all fingers and toes for Paul to play Mull Of Kintyre tomorrow!

Nice !
He should come onstage to movement 1 from his oceans kingdom album ! That would be a cool buildup - nice and dramatic !
-
Great show! The rumors were correct though -- no Mull.
-
Fantastic gig . No mull , but really great set list . Paul in fine voice . He seemed to be really enjoying himself . At just under 3 hours , he didn’t even seem tired at the end . My son Joel ( aged 10 ) thinks Paul “ must be immortal “
-
anyone got the set list?

What a spectacular show! I was front row but at the far side so my view was obscured several times by the camera crane but nothing too disastrous. His voice was fantastic but I did think it was weak during Here Today but that was it. He was on fantastic form and I loved every second of it. He really is the greatest artist of all time & my stance on that hasn't changed in 15 years & it never will!
