I'm getting so excited to go to Raleigh to see Paul!  It's been 3 years since I've seen him.  I bought our tickets 9 months ago and thought it would take forever to get here and now it's only 2 weeks away!! Our tickets are on the floor in the 5th row on the left side facing the stage  - I can't believe it! I've never spent that much for a ticket in my life and probably never will again. I've got my poster made to try to get picked to get on stage. I feel like I'm 15 again waiting to go to the Beatles concert!!!!

                Susy,

Have a great time.  If this is your 1st Paul show, then every song will be new for you.  I'll be looking for reviews and the complete setlist.  So happy for you.

A bit skeery when he had to stop during "Here Today" to clear his throat.

                          He's looking mighty fine.

Can't wait to see him July 10th.

I hope everyone had a great time! A remark I noticed on setlist.com of the concert yesterday; Paul drank water on stage for the first time ever, as far as we know. I thought this was something he would never do. Was there something wrong and what did it do to his singing? Thanks!

He even made a little Paul McCartney history. He famously doesn’t drink water on stage during his shows — oh, his poor vocal chords — but after clearing his throat a few times during “Here Today,” he broke down. Now mind you, he already had sung more than 20 songs straight, so I’m not really fretting about the quality of his voice. After “Queenie Eye,” a bottle of water was brought to his piano.

So momentous was the occasion, McCartney called attention to it, and the sip was taken with a drum roll.

“One of the things that people say to me when they’re seeing the show, ‘You didn’t take a drink of water the whole time,’” he told the crowd between sips.

“But tonight I’m going to,” he said. “A rule is broken. That’s what rules are for.”

Well it took him to be almost 77 to finally do what any vocalist will tell you should be done for your voice, too late now Sir Paul -lol

Yes, he read some out in Raleigh, SirMacca...including a sign that asked him to autograph "my butt" which Paul declined to do, but then Paul added, "But let's see it, though" which made many laugh. He read from a sign saying the fan had named her son "McCartney" (as her child's Christian name) and he launched into a new story about James Corden naming his kid "McKenzie McCartney Corden." Which the audience also appreciated.

I didn't go to the Raleigh concert, but I've seen a lot of it in vids online. It appeared to be a huge thrill for the packed audience, as usual. I gave my ticket away to a friend and  longtime Beatles fan so she could go. I felt sorry for her because her husband ran off and left her when she got cancer; well, that was her first husband, and she's beaten the cancer, but I never forgot how sorry I felt for her at that time. I wanted to go, but I also wanted to do something nice for someone. I hope Paul will perform again somewhere in the general area, and next time, I'll get there for sure. God willing.

That “butt” joke is told at every concert including last night in Greenville and in Duluth in 2017. Nobody really has a sign saying “Sign my butt.”  😉
