Hi Nancy! They should have made a 90 minute rooftop concert and not have all of the rehearsal BS in the film!

I know the movie is touchy to them...

I always enjoyed the movie and that includes the rehearsals. I saw it many times at an old movie theater that showed classic movies and rock type of movies and comedies.

I was in a basement band (that never was going to go anywhere)... we got into band disagreements and decided to split up. We wanted to stay friends.

One night Let It Be was playing at the old theater. Some of the band members had not seen it ... so we went to it.

After the movie ... we were all inspired to play again as our band. I always seemed to pick up the guitar more and write more songs after seeing the movie.

And ..  we weren't the only band who had disagreements mumbled about the other sometimes saying eff you ... not in the mood to play that day etc.... (*only we were a gazillion times worse musically ha ha ha).....

I was always inspired by the movie and bummed out that I could not buy it (legally).

I had scattered versions that I would record from the television before the YouTube days.

Definitely a movie for a real Beatle Fan like myself ... I understand the no votes on their end to keep it from getting out there.

Am glad I got to see it who knows how many times ...got to know the lines (talk and reactions well).

Thanks for letting me rattle on).

I have numerous versions on DVD. It's good to see it all. The dynamics that were all in play.

Since there's so much footage.. (how many hours did Paul say they have, 56? someone correct me if I'm wrong).. why don't Paul & Ringo just do another Anthology type of tv series, and use the footage in various episodes?  It would be like watching The Beatles in a reality show, lol, only from 1969.  The very last episode could be the rooftop concert.   I'm sure it would do great in the ratings.  It's only a question of how much time it would take to edit it all into episodes... that would probably take a long time, and be all-consuming and take a huge production team to put it all together.

I don't undestand why this is so touchy for them.  There is no REAL bickering in the film, other than George and Paul talking about a guitar part.  They would have you believe they were at each others throats, and cussing each other out.  I never got that impression..  At times they look a little tired on screen.  No biggie. Plus its been FIFTY years.  There have been countlessbooks, articles, films interviews, etc on their history. Why are they so worried?!?

Release the damn film, and add some bonus clips.  That would be a huge seller.

I hear you Maccaroni1974, I really wish that LET IT BE would be released. However, I think that the film is very personal for the Fab Four and they have delayed it for obvious reasons. For The Beatles themselves, seeing the film, it shows The Beatles themselves breaking apart. The arguments in the film may not be bad to us but it may be bad to them. I hope that Capitol/EMI does release LET IT BE someday, Beatles fans would love it no matter what. Take care.

I cannot find a thread for this so I am sorry if there already is one.

Anyone  hearing about this? I know there are people who want a copy of this or there may be some who have not seen it.

I got a  bootleg years  ago on VHS, so I have seen it. I do not have the tape anymore, you know how video tape disintegrates over the years. I think Paul is helping with this new release. Just speaking for myself, I do not care to have a DVD copy. It makes me sad. Just heartbreaking. I accept that the reality of those days, but I prefer to focus on the good times. The Beatles brought me great joy and also saved my life.

So best wishes to all who want to buy the New Release. After all the music is great.

take a sad song and make it better

The movie Let It Be has been officially released twice during the 1980's when videotape was king. Most bootleg copies are from the Laserdisc release (a format which preceded DVD but was too cumbersome and expensive to succeed). When the first issue of the videotape format lapsed, they never took the time to reissue it on DVD. There have been several times since that the Let It Be movie was "almost" released, especially when Paul remade Let It Be as the Let It Be Naked album it was supposed to come out then. The film has been remastered, and they showed many clips from it  between live segments at the Beatles The Night That Changed America taping I went to in 2014. They could have released it at anytime. They found they could probably make an entirely new movie that was much improved over the original. I think that is the thinking at Apple now, and in 2020 we may see a huge Let It Be project for the 50th anniversary. At least from things I've read.

That does make sense as the bootleg dvds of the sessions are so much more interesting than the original film.

I think that is the thinking at Apple now, and in 2020 we may see a huge Let It Be project for the 50th anniversary. At least from things I've read.

That does make sense as the bootleg dvds of the sessions are so much more interesting than the original film.

                                        I love the bootleg DVDs.

A lot of the no votes came about because the Beatles....other than Paul....thought it was cut to feature Paul more prominently and sympathetically.  Maybe there's a much better movie in there......

Someone pointed out a quote they said came from John Lennon saying the Let It Be movie was all f##$ing Paul.

So a group of friends would joke that we were going to see "all fooking Paul" and we pictured it on the marque or at the ticket window. It was good for a laugh and was a good inside joke among us.

We used the word "fooking" not the real word. This made it more amusing for us way back when.

                                            🤪🙃

Oh well.... this was just to add some nonsense and fun for no other reason than it came to my thoughts out of the blue.
