89/90 tour was great! Still, 93 edges it out for me, as McCartney did a few 50s tunes in 89, while very cool, could have been Beatles or solo tunes. IMO!

Here's that version of the Get Back concert-film where the speed has been corrected to the proper pitch. Much, much better than the first version!

I love this--he sounded so good back then (22 years ago!!) And during Hey Jude, he doesn't do the weird high "the movement you need is on your shoulder" thank God. Still does the "You were great, and you were great" bit, though!

However on "Tripping the Live..." cd take, he does the high " movement you need is on your shoulder".

You mean he is just trying to emphasize the line? If so, he doesn't need to as we all know the story. It sounds much better the original way, imho.

Off The Groud album isnt as good as Flowers. The tour wasnt quite as good either. There are some decent songs on OFG, but did we really need Looking for Changes,Peace in the Neighborhood, and Biker like and Icon in concert?? Those songs killed some of the momentum of the 93 shows. I saw him in Milwaukee that tour. Killer gig in the rain!

I disagree. In many ways, the 93 tour was better than the 89/90 tour. The earlier tour had songs like AIN'T THAT A SHAME and TWENTY FLIGHT ROCK, while interesting, would have been better replaced with Beatles and solo songs, which Paul did in 93. Also, OTG, while not as good as FLOWERS, had great music that worked live. Better than the songs on DRIVING RAIN and CHAOS, for my part. Having said that, BIKER LIKE AN ICON was wonky!

Whilst Paul sounds great in 89'/90' by '93 he is sounding strange. Also looks like a wally in those waistcoats.

Getting back to the "New World Tour" in '93, IMO Autralia had the best set list. Paul started that tour off with "Get Out Of My Way" and the revamped "I Wanna Be Your Man" in the setlist which were taken out by the time they played in the U.S., Europe and South America. "Another Day" was included in both the Australian and U.S. legs but was replaced by "Jet" towards the end of the tour. I wouldn't be surprised to see Paul going to Australia if the rumored tour this year takes place. The ads would be amazing "Returning After 20 Years..."

Paul OPENED with "Get Out Of My Way" in '93???? Wow! Would love to see/hear that! Also: "Returning After 20 Years..." would be a cool promotion.

I could not believe he dropped "Get Out Of My Way" from the US Tour. I thought it was the best song (my favorite) on the "Off the Ground" album. It is funny you mentioned it as opening song. I always pictured it as the opening. I also always pictured Chuck Berry joining him as a special guest at some show at the time, just on that song. It was one of the songs he played on SNL, I could not understand why he dropped it in 93? Podgie (Every album should have at least one Rocker, and that was Rocker for me on that album) Monkey

I saw McCartney in 76, 89, 93, 02 and 09. All of those shows were fantastic. I can't say one was better than the other, just different. The 89 tour was very exciting, I was at the Forum in LA for opening night, about five rows up on Paul's left, fantastic seats! It was a brilliant show! They all are.
