Tour Routing

There's just a "sameness" to Paul's tours and tour schedules that have become quite boring. Remember when being a Paul fan was fun?
Looking back his touring almost constantly over the years lessened the thrill a little bit with each passing year. They used to be events: front page news. But they've been commonplace (in some regions) for the best part of a decade.
Bingo !!!

If you look at the 1989/90 tour, then the 1993 tour, except for a handful of markets, he hit new places. In 1990 he played Phoenix. In 1993, he played New Mexico and Colorado, but not Arizona. Now, he seems to repeat places over and over, and yes, he is playing some small markets, but he seems stuck in a rut, playing the same markets every tour. Almost exact. It's really boring. I KNOW it is exciting for people in those places, but as a fan in a place he never plays, it gets tedious seeing him play the same markets, over and over. Minneapolis AGAIN???

It's still fun for me but not like it was because we're all older. I just didn't feel the excitement at the start of this tour I felt at other tours; even the Out There tour. I get a weird feeling about this tour, I can't really explain it. We're at the final stanza now. Bittersweet for me. I reckon this is his last tour. I wrote somewhere before I feel he's doing his victory lap.
I totally have that same feeling. At the shows I went to and even the one's I've seen online...there's an urgency (and definitely a bitter-sweetness) to it that I hadn't felt before ...

I have to say, Paul's routing for his tours sucks!!!! h.
And you win a cupie doll for working routing and sucks into the same sentence.
I do have hidden talents!
When I saw the thread title I was anticipating stories about groupies on The Beatles tours...
You, sir, are obsessed with routing!!
What does it mean Down Under??
Down under indeed! We pronounce the word as rooting ("root 66"). So for us and the English it sounds like a slang word for jiggy jig.
Like the word "rutting," which means the same thing?

Yes. And it's funny, in the U.S. we say "Root" 66, but Routing is like "Row (Wow) ting"

Minneapolis AGAIN???
Minneapolis is an excellent city for live music.

So what? By that logic he should only perform in LA, NY, Chicago, Austin, Nashville, and Minneapolis.
-
Why "only"?
-
HaileyMcComet:
Why "only"?
Why play Minneapolis in late 2014, then do two more shows there in May 2016, but not do a show in Denver since 2010? Because Minneapolis has good local bands? Come on.

Did he schedule the 2nd concert there before or after Prince died?

Before.

Must just be where they know it will sell better.

He'd be welcomed in Austin again, where many people weren't able to see him due to our smaller sized arena (event hough there were two nights). I'm sure he'd sell out if he did another show here.

The McCartney board is an educating experience. I learn new stuff all the time.
