I read Streisand has a new album out, and it has a protest song she wrote about Trump...I doubt it will be as good as Paul's "Despite Repeated Warnings," but I probably shouldn't compare the two songs. I haven't even heard hers, for one thing.

She was on Real Time With Bill Maher and they played part of it - really good!

Thanks, Nancy R ! Nancy R to the rescue again, LOL. This DOES sound lovely and is restrained and genteel and sensitive for a "protest song." I wonder if Barb was inspired by Paul's "Despite Repeated Warnings" on his fantastic album "Egypt Station." These are sensitive sounding like "folk" or folk rock protest ditties, not punk rock ones raising hell. Very effective even so. (These don't all have to be rockers or punk rockers.) Neil Young has some effective rock ones, for example. The Sex Pistols. So many. And of course Donovan's early folk ones and Buffy St. Marie's "The Universal Soldier" and others of that ilk.
I like "Hope of Deliverance" more, now, by Macca, having heard it some more and seen some good vids of it by him and at a Super Bowl performance by him, too, or it was of "Freedom" by him at a Super Bowl, rather, and it was quite stirring and rousing (smiley face) ! Both, by him. Oy, Election Day is coming up Nov 6 in the U.S. and I'm anxious, nervous, biting me fingers and shivering with fear. Eeek ! I voted early and all blue, straight Dem ticket. I'm not at all ashamed to say
