When we first heard of Paul's visit to Ecuador we couldn't believe it, we couldn't believe that a Beatle (!) was going to visit this third world country. Everybody was so excited; soon everything in Ecuador was Beatles, Beatles and Beatles, for us it was fantastic and it seemed that we were living a dream. I've seen Paul 3 times before but I knew this one was going to be special! "I AM GOING TO SEE PAUL HOLDING MI HOMELAND'S FLAG" After seeing that I still can't believe it. We reunite with some friends to do something... we needed to show Paul how much his music meant to us. So we decided to do some crazy things not only because we are crazy hehe, but because this was going to be the only chance to show Paul how much we love him, the only chance to give him back at everything he and his music has done for us. We made some banners and we went to see him to the airport, we waited two hours on the side of the road and he finally came out, it was fantastic! We saw him cheering us from the back seat of his car; I think it was only 5 seconds, but imagine what is for a normal person 5 seconds in front of a God! We cried and hugged each other, we couldn't believe we have had a Beatle, a Wing, a God in front of us... but we needed to recover as soon as possible because we had another surprise for him at the hotel... we had 2 bands waiting for him up on the roof of a building in front of the hotel! On january 30th 1969 The Beatles played their last live performance, this is called the rooftop concert! Almost 50 years later some crazy fans in Ecuador do their own rooftop concert for Paul McCartney, we couldn't believe we were having him listening to us... we were living a dream. The next morning, the city woke up with a giant logo of NEW on Pichincha mountain... some newspaper said "Brazil has a big Jesus up on a mountain and Ecuador has Paul McCartney" Well, they couldn't find such a perfect way to say it! Later that day we went to the concert and Mark Sping was there... I told him we were the guys who where in the airport, who played for him in front of his hotel and who put the giant logo on the mountain, he said to me "Oh really? We love it! This morning the photographer took some great pictures of it, would you like to hear the soundcheck?" Of course we wanted to! We got in and when we saw Paul each one of us started crying, we knew that everything we've done was awarded with that. But we had one more surprise for Paul. During the concert, we he played NEW, almost 5.000 people held the NEW album cover, he was shocked but I think he was also happy very very happy. To see him clapping and touching a his heart like showing us how much he loved that it was unbelievable! Then the concert ended, we looked for each other, we hugged and cryied, everything was perfect, everything we've worked so hard has ended, the dream was over but we had the oportunity to give back at least a little bit of what Paul's music has done for our lives. We love you Paul! Hope to see you soon... Jaime Morán Paredes #OutThereFansEc

Since I am not from Quito where the Out There concert took place, I had to travel the very same day of the concert, I didn´t sleep for a day and night straight, I got so wet because it rained a lot, but you now what?, it was nothing compared to the pleausure of singing my favorite songs with Paul. I was in row 5, so I was so close to him. Wow! It´s something I will never forget. I´m so happy to accomplish one of my life dreams thanks to Paul. . It was wonderful to see Grandmas with their grandchidren enjoying his concert. Complete families were there! PS. Achachay!! ha ha I still remember that word !!

Ecuador is a beautiful country, and I'm glad I was able to go to Quito, thanks to Paul. I made fantastic new friends and I'm still impressed by "All You Need Is Love" on the piano. I'll share my video of it once I'm feeling better.
