That's the tour I'd love to see just Paul with guitar. What do you reckon? I've seen a few things where Bruce comes on stage half an hour before a show just him and his guitar and Paul has done it in the past for a few songs just him stood in front of the curtain. Now imagine a full solo set and how Easy it would be to change the setlist list during the shows

That would be awesome, Springsteen did an acoustic tour a bunch of years ago and it was great.

        Maybe I'm amazed !!

I saw Ryan Adams' acoustic show and it was one the best shows I've ever seen. There is nothing better than hearing a song stripped back to just an acoustic or piano.

He came to Albuquerque on that tour and it was great seeing him in that context. He was on stage with an acoustic guitar and mic, and sang for about two hours.

I'd absolutely love that kind of show. I was annoyed in that Zane Lowe interview when "New" came out (the interview sponsored by Bang & Olufsen, I believe), where Paul had his acoustic guitar with him and started playing songs, but Lowe just talked right over him and made him stop. That was an opportunity to see a few of the new songs in an acoustic setting, and they blew it.

Springsteen did 2 of those solo acoustic tours, both great. And I have seen other performers in this format - Nick Lowe, Richard Thompson, Ray Davies (he had one other guitarist with him); it's a wonderful and intimate kind of concert. It is my dream Paul show, but I also don't think he would ever do it, since he hasn't already. I think at this stage he prefers things to be bigger and grander - "sellouts" and "millions of people have seen thsi tour" etc. etc.

Let's not forget another factor: With the full band and layers of harmonies and instruments, it's much easier to paper over the weak spots in Paul's voice. Some of the solo acoustic numbers are sounding pretty weak these days. Blackbird and Here Today on GENYC are pretty rough.
