Get Rid of the Additional Staging at the Front of the Stage

Please do away with the additional staging that is at the front of the stage, where he plays a couple songs. Let the people in the front row get closer. Pack in a few more rows of floor tickets and let more people get to see Paul.
Especially for those who pay $2k+/ticket to get front row, I would hate to have my view blocked or to be further away from the stage. It's nice for a couple songs, when he is right up front, but I would rather have it for the whole night.
Just a suggestion.

Yep...even if you get good floor seats you are pretty far from the stage. And as you said...for only 2 sings?

Paul likes it, which is why it is still around. I think he likes being up high and being able to look out over the entire audience from that vantage point.

Thats probably because the 15,000 people who pay to attend the shows are quite content with the set list ...while the 15 here pay nothing and grumble about it.

Obviously but there may be more to it. They also now have more room for security & the cameras.

Hear, hear! I am one of those “15” - his people should realize that all of us on here are like a focus group and they should pay attention to what we say!
“Pay nothing?!” If I had all the money I have spent on The Beatles from 1964 until today, I would have some serious cash! I think since 2011 is where my highest spending began. (I am including trips to AROTR, England, Beatles cruises, plus concert tickets and merchandise)

I have no problems with the stage height. It's the extra staging, which takes up AT LEAST a couple rows of potential floor seats. Those in the front row shouldn't be so far away from Paul. I had front row back in 2012, and it was great. I've seen some recent videos where it looks like some people are so far away, and they are in the first few rows.
I have front row tickets for when he comes to Fort Wayne. It is a smaller venue than his normal stadium, so I'm hoping that they do away with that smaller extra stage. I want to be as close as possible.

You missed my point,Nancy. I meant it costs nothing to be on this board complaining about the set-list and anything else for that matter. If you don't like the set-list then don't attend the show. That's the best way for everyone to show that they're not happy with the show,just boycott it. And if enough fans do so, and Paul starts playing to half-filled venues,then he'll seriously start thinking of ways to improve the shows. But in the end,even we all agreed on the same thing, the fans on these boards are but a tiny minority of people who buys Paul's records and attend his shows.

You seem to be under the illusion that somehow Paul owes you something just because you choose to buy his product? I suspect a lot of people attending his current shows haven't even bought any of his recent albums which is fair enough. It really doesn't matter if you are seeing him for the 100th time or the first time, it doesn't even matter if you buy multiple copies of his releases,or you don't buy any at all. At the end of the day he owes us nothing. I'm not content with the set-list either so I just don't go to his shows anymore. I'd sooner spend my money on artists who do put on a show that I know that I'll enjoy.

You didn’t make yourself clear at all. And I’m with oobu, nobody said he owes us anything. It would just be nice if his people who supposedly run this forum would pay a bit more attention to what the fans on here are saying. Don’t expect that to happen, though. I did not buy a hot sound package this year and only went Gold VIP because my best friend wanted to see him with me in Greenville. This will most likely be it for me.

That little extra stage/platform is what I was talking about. Paul obviously must like that part of the show when he rises high above the audience and can see everyone. They must have decided it was easier to have that platform placed in front of the main stage rather than have it rise from the middle of the stage.
Don't expect that it will be removed for Fort Wayne. It's been at every indoor arena show since it first appeared; even in the smaller arenas. I agree that it does take up more room in front of the stage and pushes the audience back a bit. But front row is still great and you will still be close, with no one else in front of you to block your view!

The perfect solution would be to have that rising platform built INTO the main stage, rather than directly in front of it.
He could still have his "going up" special effect for the 2 songs... and not be stuck with all that awkward wasted space between the main stage and the front of the fans on the floor.

I think they like the extra space for all of his people & camera equipment. But I agree, it should be banished.
