paul came out around 8:50. so far, so good. mrs. vandebilt being sung right now. its hot and muggy. paul's soaked and vocals are a bit rough, but the band sounds incredible and the sound is pumping. paul got a louder response when asking whos from chicago rather than milwaukee... pretty funny.

Get Back replaces I Saw Her Standing There from Sunday in the 1st encore. Thats about it on changes.

Sounds like the heat and humidity made that a tough show for everyone. But the review in the Milwaukee paper is glowing: http://www.jsonline.com/entertainment/musicandnightlife/paul-mccartney-still-keeps-it-fresh-for-himself-crowd-b9954615z1-215778491.html

Limping back home at 7:00am with no voice. And for one sweet night, it was all worth it. One last time with Sir Paul! Kicked my ass man. Glad I sprung on the Goose. Goodnight!

The heat and humidity were brutal. Saw 3 people carted off by EMS before the gates even opened. Paul and the band were amazing given the conditions. Went with 3 newbies and they were all speechless at his performance and stamina. I almost feel though, as a Milwaukeean, that I have to apologize for the lousy acoustics at Miller Park.

I saw one woman carted off before gates opened and one person carried from the floor on stretcher before concert began. Thought I might be next. I had brought water with me and I ended up pouring more of it on me than drinking it. I think lady behind me was concerned about me because she said she had more bottles of water if I needed more. I got to parking lot shortly after 4:30 PM, so I got to park close to the gates. Was so happy for that by the time show ended. I was parked along the edge between two cars. I left a bit early as I was fading (after 1st encore), people who I met tailgating in the shade were gone. I'm sure it was the heat. We had a rude young couple come down and just stand in our aisle. People around me were all about my age (60ish) and both men and women were screaming at them to move. They pretended not to hear, so I got up and tapped the guy on the shoulder and asked if they had seats somewhere. He said yes, so I said then go to them. Everybody around me cheered and lady behind me poured more water on me! I learned my lesson. I can't totally say I enjoyed this concert due to the overwhelming heat. I was afraid I might be a casualty by about halfway through. No more summer stadium concerts for me. Notice I did not say no more concerts, just no more summer stadium concerts. Paul and band did their best. I don't have the greatest camera, but Paul's fancy Dior shirt was soaked clear through from early on. I do not know how the man did it. As miserable as the people around me were all saying about how they felt--Paul and the band had all those hot lights on them. The one great thing about a stadium is there were fireworks for Live and Let Die along with flash pots and lasers. I was too far to the side in Memphis to get the full effect of the rising stage, but I did get to see it's beauty last night. The people behind me only knew Beatles songs and asked me what Wings meant! : As soon as Paul said here's one for the Wings fans and started Nineteen Hundred and Eighty-Five out came the weed!

I took a friend who has been a Paul fan nearly his whole life and never saw him before. He loved it. Found it amazing (as did I) that Paul went through 30+ songs in the heat without water and wore that overcoat for a good 10 minutes on stage under the lights and through that humidity. Just continues to impress me. Also got another friend to go who saw Paul in '76 and '89. Didn't want to see him now because he wanted to remember Paul as he was back then. Took some convincing, but then he went. Now he's happy he did. He's a hardcore Beatles fan and musician who absolutely loved the new setlist (compared to '05). He also was awe-struck by Paul's vocals at 71. So I felt pretty good for the most part (given the weather and longest lines of delay ever). Someone broke out the weed during "Junior's Farm", and then again for "1985" as mentioned, lol. But not during "Hi, Hi, Hi"?! I scratched my head on that one. Lastly, here's "Live and Let Die" from yesterday. What an awesome performance!

Just had coffee with friends who attended soundcheck. It was about 90 minutes because they were having technical difficulties and stopped to adjust things between almost every song. Also did the rising platform at soundcheck, which is not usually done. Nobody bothered to tell the parking lot attendants about the soundcheck, so there was confusing getting in. They ended up getting to park for free.
-
You would think Miller Park had never hosted a concert before judging by the poor crowd and traffic control. But they did manage to leave a door open during soundcheck, for which I thank them.
-
Maybe they had big fans blowing on Paul and the band from the sides and backs of the stage? Even the front?

As a native Chicagoan I can feel the humidity still just from reading about it. I do not miss those oppressive summer days. I had friends go and they said they nearly passed out too. I can't imagine being under hot lights performing with it. Usually I complain that Seattle nights get too cool (always need a jacket) but come Friday when it's showtime here I will be happy.

I wonder how many air conditioners Paul & band have blowing on them? And I wonder if it helps at all? Probably not much.

Wix tweeted about the heat but said his instruments are air conditioned. I don't see how any air could have gotten to Paul in particular. He's all over the stage. Saw a friend's pictures and during sound check, Paul was drinking water and sweating profusely. Just before My Valentine, the sweat on his pink shirt is in the form of a heart on his back. By the end of the 90 minute sound check, he had even unbuttoned at least one button on his shirt. During the concert, I wondered how the band survived. You certainly don't see any of them drink water during the show. The band does leave the stage and could have gotten water to drink or put on their faces, etc. As we all know, Paul does not leave to get a chance to do this. Even after he was given a towel and wiped himself, you can't tell it in the pictures. The pictures were much clearer than the screen showing sweaty Paul--but that's from the 4th row. My pictures are from Sec. 125 and in one picture from the piano, Paul looks old and tired with sweat pouring down his face--just like it was down mine. I couldn't send texts part of the time or make calls. Found out today I wasn't the only one. Cell towers got overloaded. Sounds like parking was oversold. I'm glad I decided to bail after the first encore. I don't really like Helter Skelter, but do wish I'd heard the Abbey Road medley as I love it. By then, I just wanted out of there. My cousin had given me directions and I had his GPS. However, I was not directed to go either the way my cousin told me to go or the GPS told me to go. GPS finally got it straightened out just as I was about to call my cousin after midnight to say I was lost somewhere in Milwaukee!

Flaming Pie, MMT and Penny Lane remained in the soundcheck, reportedly with new graphics as pending additions to the regular setlist (for Japan?).
