I have recently finished this book. It is available in paperback and hardback.

I don't know if this site accepts commercial links, but just Google the book's title if you want it.

Paul McCartney After the Beatles: A Musical Appreciation

The book is 120,000 words long and is a musical examiniation of his career after the Beatles. It uses descriptions of musical devices to provide a coherent argument of what consitutes McCartney's musical and compositional style. It also provides an introduction to music theory for beginners. It is not all theory, however, as the book links key events in his life over the past five decades to his musical output. All photographs are originaland unique, and have been provided by many fans around the world.

I did play around with this forum for a while to get the link - gotta be honest, the style of the forum is a bit old and clunky.
