New album consisting of soundcheck tracks!

I know it’s not the most reliable source, but I just saw on facebook a post with a quote from Paul, announcing the release of an album with tracks from the soundchecks from the past years! That is the best idea ever! Realllllly looking forward to that, especially since attending a soundcheck is such a rare happening and you always miss out on some tracks you also really want to hear!

Actually, a lot of the songs on "the Russian album" Choba B CCCP he plays during soundchecks. That was just reissued. Maybe that's what he was referring to?

Well,not quite. The actual quote,taken from an interview on Paul's official website, was:
"And one day we will have to put together an album, or something, with a selection of these songs that we’ve gathered."
There's no announcement there that an album is being released or that an album will be released, just that an album might be released... if he ever gets around to it.

No, it actually appeared to be a new album. I will try to find the post on facebook.

But I agree, as long as we don’t have an actual date yet, this may take a while... especially with your quote from the website in mind

It’s hard not to get your hopes up Maybe if a live album is released in the near future, the 'soundcheck' album will be issued as a bonus disc? To be honest though I wouldn't be interested in either as I'm far more interested in studio albums featuring new songs.

Now this sounds real interesting, as someone who has never been to a soundcheck. Especially enjoyed Sun Is Shining as it sounds exactly like being at the beach!!! You can just visualize the sun on the water in that song. Wish someone would make a video... Also Tequila is a fun fave. Mostly Fireman songs too!

There's nothing new about this concept -- just read the liner notes for "New," which talk about how some of the songs on the album originated as riffs during soundchecks. (Though which ones aren't specified.)

Macca said there are "thousands" of soundcheck songs to go through, so one supposes a new album of those could take a while in materializing. I'd love for one to come out, though. I've never been to a soundcheck, either. Loves2Travel mentioned she hasn't and she could go for an album of these. It sounds interesting and intriguing. Of course, as always, I pine for new albums of all original new Macca songs, like Kestrel mentioned. "Egypt Station" certainly whetted one's appetite !

I don't know so can only suspect that his GP told him that the damage has been done and whatever he does from now on won't make any difference. Clearly singing is not giving him any physical discomfort so he's just getting on with what he enjoys doing. And judging by what fans have said having seen him performing live, he still has good days as well as bad days.

Anyone could walk past and hear the soundcheck when he played Park HaYarkon in 2008. It was impossible to see anything, but the music soared over the park. Between "Drive My Car" and "Let Me Roll It" they played one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. They did not play it during the concert and I have never heard it since. I would buy a soundcheck CD for this song alone.

Agree but that's why he should quit singing a few of the songs where he can't quite hit those notes anymore.

Yeah, like Maybe I’m Amazed (as much as I love it) and Here Today. Get rid of Mr. Kite too and sing In My Life. Sing falsetto or have Abe hit that high note at the end.

Thank you. Unfortunately, that is not the song. I have spent years searching bootlegs and b-sides and have yet to hear it.
