I don't think so. Unsold vip package seats are put on sale sometimes as late as the day or hours before the concert. I know one lady who has bought great floor seats many times hours before the concert and she keeps checking ticketmaster over and over the day of the show. I also think they hold back some seats for friends and family that also are put up for sale close to the show.

        7/12/13 Wash. D.C., MET PAUL!!!

7/14/14 Lincoln Nebraska ... MET PAUL!!!

        5/5/16 Minneapolis...MET PAUL!!!

I agree with the above. I have a friend who has bought great tickets on the day of the concert. She knows she is taking a chance, but, so far, it has always worked. Now, with Ticketmaster at least, when a concert is sold out, you can sign up to be alerted when more tickets go on sale.

Pretty much,....all if not most concerts hold back seats, typically its the promoters having some for various reasons, sometimes the venue, especially once site lines are confirmed.....

: I have a ticket on order from Stub Hub for the 5th row. They said the seller will ship the ticket via UPS a few days before the show. That's why I am curious about venues or promoters holding back. I don't want to put the ticket I already have in hand up for sale though yet in case the sale falls through.

Contact Stub Hub. I think they guarantee the tickets they sell, but I don't understand why the seller doesn't have the ticket. That said, I wanted to sell a ticket to Minneapolis. It was a .pdf ticket, but AXS didn't email them until maybe 10 days or so before the show. I had nothing to sell until the email came. Maybe the venue has that kind of policy. I'd be nervous if it's the kind of ticket you have to get at will call. Maybe seller thinks they can get the ticket by a certain date at will call.

Yes, I did contact Stub Hub and they said they will issue a refund if the seller does not deliver. Being in center 5th row is something I would like to experience in my lifetime which is why I took this chance. But, why doesn't the seller have the ticket to send now!!!

What is will call? At least Stub Hub said the seller is severely punished if they can't deliver.

It's not a will call ticket; it's supposed to be delivered by 4 days before the show.

That is stupid as hell! I agree with you--why can't the seller send the ticket now?!

Because the seller doesn't have the ticket yet. They probably are getting it from the promoter or the venue or some other source like that. Sellers have to disclose to StubHub if they have the tickets in hand or not when they list for sale, and when they expect to have them. I bought a ticket once on SH that I had to wait for. It did come in time for the show. SH will get you into the show if that seller falls thru.

I have sold on Stub Hub and it asks you if you have ticket on hand or the date you expect to have it. I didn't list the Minneapolis ticket until I actually had it even through the confirmation email said the date it should arrive. Ended up selling it on Craig's List so saved Stub Hub fees. Deleted listing as soon as it sold. I think if you don't come through with the ticket, Stub Hub bans you. They also charge money to your credit card. I've not read the fine print on that because I would never do that.

Yes, they will be punished. Ask Stub Hub if they will get you in to show with a similar seat.
