Let's encourage our good friend Paul McCartney to play Lovely Rita live this month. I can picture the trippy lights for this Sgt. Pepper classic!

Only Day 2, eh? I was hoping that they'd been at it for weeks now -- working out a whole new show. It'll be awesome, regardless.

The way I see it, they really don't need to rehearse the show, as a whole. It's been the same structure for a few years now, with a lot of staples. So, I'm thinking they are working on two or three "minty fresh" tracks for us

That song will get it's time. It's not like it's a big omission in the current set. Since 2002 McCartney added almost all his Beatles-songs, and plenty more. In the case of 'Lovely Rita', bit scraping the bottom of the Beatles-barrel. And since there are now only about 5 McCartney-songs left to do, I can see why he's saving it for the last. But the band rehearsed it from time to time in the past 10 years, and are always mentioning it in response to the question which Beatles-song they would like to add to the set, so that one will see the light of day.

You bring up a neat point I'd never thought about in depth...how many "straight Paul songs" (like no Lennon involvement, at least not vocally) has Paul NOT performed live? Here's what I can come up with... (In chronological order) 1. What You're Doing ('64- Beatles for Sale) 2. Another Girl ('65- Help!) 3. Lovely Rita ('67- Sgt. Pepper) 4. Your Mother Should Know ('67- MMT) 5. Martha My Dear ('68- White Album) 6. All Together Now ('69- Yellow Submarine) 7. Maxwell's Silver Hammer ('69- Abbey Road) 8. Oh! Darling ('69 Abbey Road) That's all I can come up with! Eight songs! Of course, there are some that he hasn't played in a VERY long time, or only one tour etc. but these are the select EIGHT that have never been touched live!

Of course a stadium act will get together for such big shows, after having not played together for half a year, even if they are playing the same show. They even 'rehearse' for television appearances with just a 'Hey Jude' or 'Let It Be' or two. Regardless of that: of course they are adding two or three mindblowing new additions for the upcoming shows!

Plus 'Hold Me Tight', 'Rocky Raccoon' and 'Honey Pie'. And then there's 'When I'm 64', 'Wild Honey Pie', 'Why Don't We Do It In The Road' (all 3 not going to happen). Plus you can add 'Every Little Thing', which has Lennon on lead vocals but is a McCartney composition.

Do you guys think that Paul fears that audience members would walk out of the show if he did "Why Don't We Do It In The Road?"

I wouldn't walk out but...I certainly have never considered it for a live track ever...not that I can remember...on the fifth of november.

Then there are the 50% songs like "I wanna hold your hand"-"She loves you"-"From me to you". "Eight days a week" is 100% Paul, but then he left the vocal to Lennon. "Wait" is always Paul. And what about "A taste of honey" cover surprise? 🙂
