Egypt Station - Explorer's Edition (UK) for £5.99
-
Macca fans here in the UK, who have yet to invest in the double cd Explorer's Edition of Egypt Station, should make their was to their nearest HMV store. I picked up a copy this morning for £5.99.
Curiously they also have for sale the standard edition (single cd) of Egypt Station......... for £9.99 !!!!

Good for you Kestrel. Sounds like the chain might have "overbought" and are just looking to get some of their money back. Or maybe they got a quantitiy practically free from the record company and are trying to make some quick profits.
If I had been in your shoes, I would have certainly bought the double CD just to get the 2nd CD.

Is HMV closing near you? They just closed HMV near My friends and I'm so sad. I love that store!! Just wondered, with the low price and all.

There are several in Liverpool. One is right down the street from the Hard Day's Night hotel!

Not to my knowledge. Although HMV currently have a New Year sale on, this Explorers Edition cd isn't part of it and is just simply priced at £5.99. It hasn't always been that price though although there's no evidence to suggest its been reduced.

Possibly although its not actually a good way of selling the standard single cd edition. What I'll do now is use my original copy in the car. I'm not a huge fan of the album but I may well enjoy it more whilst driving.

Have just looked on website and they're sold out at 5.99 left my email, in case they get more! Thanks for the heads up!

There were a very limited number of Egypt Station - Explorer's Edition CDs reduced to £5:99 in HMV and once they've all been sold it will go back up to the regular price, so it won't be available at that price in August/September.

AFAIK, there has only been a single HMV in Liverpool for many years - first on Church Street, now in the Liverpool ONE shopping centre.

You're right. When I clicked on that link I thought the 3 listed on the left were all in Liverpool, but there is just the one on South John St. in Liverpool ONE. That's where the huge b&w photo of The Beatles is outside the shop.

Crap! Well, at least I got a photo of it in 2011 (and I think it was still there in 2016)
