Woo hoo! 51!
-
51! wow! the list is still growing

Maybe we could contact Denny Laine and ask him to join the petition? Or maybe have him attend a show and hold up a SLS sign? I think THAT would get Paul's attention.

53! WOOOO
-
My goal is to get Denny Laine to sign the petition.
-
Why not ask Brian and Rusty if they'd like their names added? Get em tweeted
-
Ooh, I like these ideas!!
-
I'm trying to figure out Denny Laine's website right now.
There are no discussion pages, forums, tour info., or contact info., so probably no luck there. He's on FB, but I don't know how active he is on there. I've sent a friend request, anyway, which may or may not go through. If it's a personal account, I wouldn't be surprised to be refused, but if it's his musician page, I should be able to get accepted.
The goal is to not hound the poor man, as he deserves his privacy, but if I can find a commercial page for him, I don't mind sending him a request.
-
Message sent to Brian on his musician (not personal) FB page: Hi Brian! Weird request, maybe.
We have a petition started on Paul's webpage in the fan section, and it's a group of us who would love to hear "Silly Love Songs" in concert. Can we add your name to our petition?
-
Feel free to like the wall post on Brian's page--the more "like"s it has, the more he might take it seriously...

I posted this in another thread yesterday, but it certainly belongs here: If this doesn't make the case for "Silly Love Songs" (aside from it being a No. 1 mega-hit/radio-staple), I don't know what will: Sometime, back in the '90s, I'd made a '70s mix-tape for one of my best friends. It included a lot of my faves: Todd Rundgren, Ike & Tina Turner, Ten Years After, The O'Jays, more. At the time, my buddy was a courier for a medical lab. While working, listening to the cassette in his vehicle, he pulled the car over, found a pay-phone and called me. He was blown away by the Wings Over America version of "Silly Love Songs" that I'd put on the tape. He called to ask me if it was on Paul's Tripping The Live Fantastic. I told him that it was on Wings' live-album from 1977. Still on the clock, he detoured to Tower Records and bought the album! Right then and there! He HAD to have that album.

Has anyone tweeted Brian and Rusty about it yet?
