Has your daughter had her baby yet, Nancy? I thought you said Sept. 15 ?

She went into labor just after midnight. I was awake until 5:30 reading texts, then slept until almost 9.
They just had to break her water. Delivery will be soon I hope! ️

Welcome Reyah to the world! Born at 12:44pm EDT, Sept. 17th, 7 lbs. 5 oz, 19" long. Labor was about 13 hours and my daughter looked so exhausted! Due to Covid-19, couldn't go to the hospital, but got updates and photos all day.

Thanks so much Susy, Yankeefan and Love2travel! Photobucket is not working right now. Wil post her going home photo tomorrow!
My daughter called me in a panic at 2:30 am today (I'm a night owl, so was still awake) He husband was about passing out from exhaustion and not eating enough, so the nurse "broke the rules" and let me come in and he went home. Got no sleep, changing diapers, feeding her - she wakes up crying every hour! Got home about 4:15 pm, ate, then called my daughter's dad (he just lives about 1000 ft. down the street from me and we have a very cordial relationship) and gave him the update, then slept. 7:30 - 10:15 pm.

I know I keep writing on here, as if I was the only one to be a first time grandparent! Right now I'm spending the night at my daughter's and taking care of Reyah so they can sleep, but it's like pulling teeth t get Daddy to take a shower and go to bed! It's 12:30 am and he has yet to do either! My daughter is better. She at least got a shower and is getting a snack and then will go to bed. I have Reyah in the guest room with me + bassinet. I am a night owl anyway and took a nap before I came over at 10pm, so I might just stay up all night. Depends on how much Reyah sleeps! They have to take her to the pediatrician tomorrow at 9:30, so will go home at 9 and sleep.
