I've just seen that the Paul McCartney page on Facebook has changed the profile picture & cover photo to Freshen Up without any hints of changes so hopefully that's a good sign

Interesting. That also sometimes means he is announcing new dates...

Indeed, either way it's not lookig like they're planning on cancelling the dates but I guess you can never tell. I'm just hoping it can all go ahead. I really had to push my boss to sign off on me going on holiday hahaha

I don´t expect Barcelona to be cancelled, really. We are still 3 MONTHS from the concert and the weather will be hot then, which seems to be fatal to the virus survival. It depends really on how the situation develops in Spain in the coming days/weeks.

Agreed, but the thing will be about how long they will wait to make a decision. They won't do an European tour with massive gaps in the schedule. The situation is not under control, and the peaks outside Italy are yet to come. That makes it too uncertain to go through.

My point is, it's unrealistic to think the virus will stop spreading in the coming weeks in Italy (and many other parts in the world) and McCartney's booker won't leave the decision until the final call, because it involves the whole tour.

What is the status regarding cancelling European shows this summer? At what time will the deciscion be taken?

I could be wrong but I think by summer and with the weather being warmer, chances are concerts will go on as scheduled. Anything in April or May may be iffy but think the early summer months should be fine.

Well the lack of comment on this officially is really getting to me. With under 2 months to the 31/05 gig, for that show I think it's wishfuk thinking to assume it will go ahead.

Just need to wait & see. I'm going to see The Killers the week of the Paris gig & they've just released a statement saying they're still planning to go ahead with it as they believe it'll settle down but only time will tell.

I would be surprised if the tour went as scheduled. There are just too many events being cancelled or postponed the last few days.

It is, although also gutting - totally understandbale. Hopefully rescheduled dates and refuda for those who cannot make it.

Just the lack of clarity around this is frustrating.

There's nothing to be clear about though. It is not clear. Many countries aren't doing enough and their peaks are yet to come. By that time we're in April, and weeks short of the tour. A tour in uncertainty will not go on, out of practical reasons alone. They're not going to wait and invest in the crew and logistics just to have 1 or 2 gigs go on by chance. Especially when they easily can postpone.

The thing is though the open-air gigs over here can't be postponed later than August due to weather conditions. Also, this whole tour was build around Glastonbury, which is still in high doubt as well. McCartney's bookers are probably cheering, since now they can reschedule the stadium/open-air gigs to smaller venues without losing face.

The Coronavirus seems to be impacting on everything at the moment,  had to cancel a few days in northern Italy for end of this month although I have booked to see Crowded House in June in Cardiff at present that gigs still on. I decided not to see Paul this time around, i'm still optimistic that I'll see him in concert again before he decides to rest up his guitar.  Hope everyone going to see Paul this yr gets some answers and clarity in these worrying times.

Concert promoters Live Nation and AEG have cancelled ALL of their concert tours in the US, and I believe also world-wide.  So for Paul, it is probably a matter of time.  They may be waiting because most of his shows are in June, but I don't know how much longer they can wait to make a decision.

It's probably to do wtih insurance as to why they haven't said anything. Along with people buying tickets & making travel plans. They are monitoring it for sure as more bands that are touring at around that time have said that they're not planning to reschedule as of now as there's still time & will assess the situation. The only event cancelled for May was BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend in Dundee but tickets weren't put on sale & they only announced 6 acts. Still hopeful but not getting hopes up just in case of potential disappointment

I'm surprised Elton hasn't announced more cancellations. As of now his US shows in April are still on although his shows in Montreal the end of March now appear to be postponed. As for Toronto a few days before there is still no word.

And still nothing official from the Stones.

We may have to wait until into May before we hear any official word from Paul...

I still have hope about not canceling or postponing June dates. Elton finally postponed through May 2. The CDC came out recommending all group gatherings of more than 50 be avoided for 8 weeks so, realistically, we are looking at mid May before any major events could even consider rescheduling in the US. I don't see any chance Paul's Europe shows can happen, either.
