I think it would be terrific if Paul would re-release Hope For The Future.

Not as a money-grab of course.  He could release it as a free download.

I happen to think that this track is one of Paul's finest.  And I also think that people would find it particularly uplifting at this point in time.  Also, unless you are a gamer or a hard-core McCartney fan, you might not have ever heard this song.

      What do you guys think?

Initially, I just watch a couple of Youtube clips of "Hope For the Future" and thought it was allright but nothing special.

A little while later, however , I started listening to "This is Paul McCartney" from Spotify.  Because this is specifically an almost all Post Beatles and Solo Paul Playlist, I really liked the selection.  One of the songs on this playlist was "Hope for the Future" and once I started to hear it on a regular basis, I really grew to like the song.  Its now become one of my "later" Paul Solo favorites.  Great lyrics and singing in my opinion.  I agree that it is especially pertinent at this time.

This has always been one of my favorite songs and IMHO would be a great rerelease of this great song, along with a new non gamer video. (Don't get me wrong, I really and very much loved the gamer video, it was very cool) A very hopeful song!!

Another rerelease, because of the lyrics, that IMHO I think would be great is We All Stand Together. Great lyrics apropos to today in a worldwide manner. While I loved the frog version and wish it could be played in every Kindergarten, day care and places where children gather... In this time of Global Pandemic, I'm imagining a global version of this song too... very inclusive of the world population. All of us safe in our homes and apartments...  We're in it together!

Win Or Lose, Sink Or Swim
One Thing Is Certain We'll Never Give In
Side By Side, Hand In Hand
          We All Stand Together

Play The Game, Fight The Fight
But What's The Point On A Beautiful Night?
Arm In Arm, Hand In Hand
          We All Stand Together

Keeping Us Warm In The Night
          La La La La
          Walk In The Night
          You'll Get It Right

Win Or Lose, Sink Or Swim
One Thing Is Certain We'll Never Give In
Side By Side, Hand In Hand
          We All Stand Together

Personally I think its a fairly weak song . I like the production and performance though but its a shame the song itself doesn't merit it.

                Oobu,

Hope for the Future has had the opposite effect for me.  After hearing it multiple times I really like itl

For those not as familiar with the song, here are the lyrics:

                "Some Hope for the Future

                Some Wait for the Call

To Say that the Days Ahead

Will be the Best of all

                We will build bridges

                Up to the Sky

                Heavenly Lights Surrounding

                You and I

                From out of the Darkness

                Out future will come

If we leave the Past behind

                We'll fly beyod the Sun

                We'll be together

                Sharing the Load

Watching in Wonder as our Lives Unfold

                Hope for the Future

                It's Coming soon enough

                How much can we achieve?

                Hope for the Future

                It will belong to us

                If we believe

                If we believe

Hope shines brightest in the Dark

                When nothing's ever seen

                Lighting undiscovered places

                No-ones ever been

                Some Hope for the Future

                Some Wait for the Call

To Say that the Days Ahead

Will be the Best of All"

BJ I totally agree with you, about the lyrics to this song and his lyrics in general. This one really speaks to me and seems very appropriate for todays situation.  We're all waiting for the call...all clear to resume life. Building bridges, from out of the darkness our future, will come, if we leave the past behind, Hope shines brightest in the Darkness, If we BELIEVE, Hope for the Future... it's all in there!! Love the upbeat ending too

Why as soon as we get the call for the "all clear" I'm booking a plane to Europe, getting a couple of concert tickets, and party like it's 1999!! Have some living life to catch up on 🎉🎆

Hope of Deliverance has a lot of reasonace for me at the moment...'we live in hope of deliverance, from the darkness that surrounds us'.

Phenomenal song . Underused , and defo merits a re-release.

I like that idea. Have always loved this song, and I think it's particularly appropriate at a time like this.
