FRESHEN UP EUROPEAN SUMMER TOUR CANCELLED

Due to the current global situation Paul and his team have been forced to cancel the forthcoming European tour dates. Given current and future work commitments it has not been possible to find alternative dates.

“We were looking forward to seeing you all this summer for what we know would have been much fun. The band and I are so sorry we can’t be with you, but these are unprecedented times and the wellbeing and safety of everyone is the priority.  I hope you are all keeping well as we look forward to the brighter times ahead.  We will rock again. Love Paul”

What a shame it couldn't be postponed. I wonder what changed in the last couple weeks when Paul told Howard Stern it was postponed until 2021.

        RDS Arena, Dublin - 12th June, 2010
Ernst Happel Stadium, Vienna - 27th June, 2013
        Echo Arena, Liverpool - 28th May, 2015

        Echo Arena, Liverpool - 12th December, 2018

Ticketmaster in the US makes refunds simple online. You just access your account and there is a link to request the refund. I hope Ticketmaster.fr is the same. I'm more concerned with Ticketone.it and the talk here of them only issuing vouchers for future shows. We'll see! Maybe since the tour is cancelled it will be handled differently than a postponement.

I have just received this e-mail from Ticketmaster France:

              Hello,

You have bought tickets for Paul McCartney at GROUPAMA STADIUM through our services.

Please take note of the following information from the production:

The Covid 19 being installed throughout France and in the world, we shared and followed the advice of each government regarding its evolution, which we know, forced us to cancel the concerts that we were impatiently awaiting . So long.

We have explored the possibilities of finding alternative tour periods in Paul's calendar, but this will not be possible due to his many ongoing engagements.

              Message from Paul McCartney:

“We were looking forward to seeing you all this summer for what we know would have been much fun. Love,

              Paul”

We’ll keep you informed on the refund policy as soon as possible.

              Thank you for your understanding.

According to the press release by the Italian promoters: "I biglietti saranno oggetto di rimborso secondo le vigenti normative di legge, a partire dalla disposizione di annullamento dell’evento da parte dell’autorità competente".

Google Translation: "Tickets will be reimbursed according to current laws, starting from the event cancellation provision by the competent authority".

My email about the Nijmegen show said that vouchers would be offered, but if they're not suitable, we can apply for a refund. Apparently it could take up to 3 months to be processed. I just hope it's not too much of a headache.

I didn't buy a ticket, but it should be an easy form. Also, it should already been emailed to you.

It seems that some vendors will provide a refund of the ticket price but not the service fee. This seems extremely unreasonable and I wonder we can, collectively, object to this. At the best of times I struggle to see why a service fee should be charged where tickets are purchased online and one has e-tickets. For non e-tickets the fee should be absorbed in the ticket price. But when the actual event does not occur it seems even more ludicrous that a service fee should be charged. Please PM me if you support this and I will copy you in to my email correspondence with relevant people in Italy.

According to the new dispositions referred to in Article 88 of the Decree Cura Italia (D.L. n. 18/2020), and the consequent decisions taken by the Event Promoter, tickets for the events that have been cancelled due to the COVID-19 health emergency and were scheduled between March, 8 2020 and May, 17 2020 will be reimbursed through a voucher.

Paul's concerts were scheduled for June, so I believe TicketOne is not entitled to offer refunds through vouchers.

Ticketone.it now has an online form that you can fill out to request a refund if the Google translation is accurate. There is a different form depending on whether the ticket was delivered by express courrier or if the ticket was designated for venue pick-up. It was fairly straight forward except if you have a physical ticket in hand you will need to scan and upload both sides of the ticket in the form. Maybe someone here who speaks Italian can confirm but, again, it does appear that refunds will be issued, not vouchers. Of course it may take up to three months according to Ticketone.it due to the extreme volume they are obviously dealing with.

                          Still no word from Ticketmaster.fr

I believe that form is for those requesting refunds via vouchers for cancelled events that had been scheduled between March 08 and May 17.

At the moment there's no Decree giving TicketOne the right to issue voucher refunds for cancelled events scheduled from May 18 onwards. Even if such a Decree becomes a reality, Paul's concerts were cancelled before it came into existence, so there's a loophole for us to refuse vouchers and demand a cash refund.

Yes, I received that email just after posting this. It was very straightforward and the waiting time for a response is currently up to 10 working days since they're so busy processing everything.

For those who bought tickets through TicketOne, there is a process to follow in order to get your money back.

                                  https://www.ticketone.it/campaign/en/covid-19/

If you order on line, look for the heading TICKETS TO CANCELLED EVENT TICKETONE.IT OR CALL CENTER.  Click where it says click here .  That will lead you to a form to fill out.  It's in Italian, but you can use Google translator or any other translator to figure out what it says.

We're lucky because I believe some concerts between March and May only allow people to get vouchers for future concerts, but we get our money back.

Has anyone heard from ticketmaster.fr yet.

Been well over a week since the cancellation email and we will get back to you soon but I've heard nothing.

logged into my ticketmaster.fr account and no option to get refund either just an option to reprint tickets.

Getting frustrating now with no update.

They sent me this email yesterday:

"Following your request of refund of your tickets for the event « PAUL McCARTNEY » the « 07/06/2020 20:30 » to « GROUPAMA STADIUM - DECINES CHARPIEU », we will proceed to refund your order « xxxx ».

You will be refund according to the refund method that you chose : « Credit card ».

If you have opted for a credit card refund, the refund will be credited to the bank card that was used when booking. If you have changed your bank card without changing your bank account, your account will be automatically credited.

If you have opted for a refund by check, this will be established in the name of the ticket purchaser and sent to the address appearing in your customer account.

Given the exceptional number of events canceled or postponed as part of government measures to combat the COVID-19 virus, the processing times for your request will be longer than usual - up to 4 weeks.

Thank you for avoiding soliciting our teams in the meantime".

How did you request a refund?
Was this done Automatically? Or did you request it via the website as I see no option.

I requested a refund via the website. I think I filled out this form:
