I never knew George wrote Run Of The Mill about Paul.

What's this 1997 "special cause" they're talking about where Paul, George and Ringo reunited? Are they confusing the 1995/1996 Anthology there?

I think the "special cause" referred to is the anthology. They have the wrong year. More importantly, the Beatles themselves were only "special cause"that benefited financially from the anthology. In fact, it is my understanding that George only agreed to do the anthology, after refusing for many years, because he needed the money.

Yep, his business manager embezzled from him. If someone writes his name, I'll remember it. Right now it escapes me.

P.S. Pete Best also benefitted financially.

It was partially inspired by Paul !!

From George's I Me Mine book:

Run of The Mill: I liked the words to Run of The Mill. It was the first song I ever wrote that looked like a poem on paper, whereas most of them don't seem much until you put the lyric with the tune.  It's like the North of England thing - you know, 'Trouble at t'mill': it was when Apple was getting crazy - Ringo wanted it blue, John wanted it white, Paul wanted it green and I wanted it orange. Paul was falling out with us all and going around Apple offices saying 'You're no good' - everybody was just incompetent (the Spanish Inquisition sketch). It was that period - the problem of partnerships.
