Well it was 40 years ago today that Coming Up reached no.1 in the US singles chart. It was the live version recorded at the Glasgow Apollo the previous December on the last night of Wings' UK tour. And I (and at least 1 other person on here) was there! The "Apollo choir" was in fine voice that night. The whole show is on YouTube.

In Scotland, it is common to hear the phrase, "We're all Jock Tamson's Bairns", meaning "we're all the same under the skin" or "we are all God's children".

Going to give this a listen later in the day, sounds good quality. Wondering if this is a bootleg?

Remember when Coming Up you tube first came out! It was so cool that Paul and Linda played all those parts. That must have taken a long time to put together.

Yes,its a bootleg but a high quality one, with the sound taken from the mixing desk. It will probably get an official release with the Back To The Egg box-set,whenever that comes out.

The video for Coming up was a brilliant piece of work, better actually than the song itself. One of Paul's impressions was of Hank Marvin, one of my greatest musical heroes.

Last Flight is the bootleg of the Glasgow show. Apparently it was recorded with the intention of releasing a live album, hence the high quality soundboard.  3 other songs from the show have been officially released - Maybe I'm Amazed and Every Night were downloads with the McCartney super deluxe and No Words in the BotR deluxe. Hopefully there will be more if/when London Town and Back to the Egg are reissued.
