Can you tell I drank too much coffee this morning? Can't shutup & wanted to say something about this city. What a place! The tour guide I had yesterday said the city population is only about 90,000, my small town @ home is 300,000. The city is clean & the people around downtown are all very young, well dressed & appear to be very successful. The population is mixed, I saw mostly orientals so this mainly applies to them. The men cut their hair in that current jagged style & wear the most fashionable clothes. NOT ONE goes around with their butt hanging out (like in London) or unshaven (like in the US). The girls have the latest makeup & wear it like a movie star. They are all wearing the latest style of parkas & boots. In the tour we went up to the viewing deck of Vancouver Center, Stanley Park, Granville Island & the one I liked best on a cold day - Bloedel Conservatory where I played with exotic birds in a warm rain forrest inside a geodesic (sp?) dome. It was like being in So America, I bet Paul would really like this too. We also looked at million dollar homes on the west side. Goldie Hawn just sold one for 25 million there. Its pretty nice on the west side without being too flashy. The area has a large park & is rustic. Surprisingly the rich are all driving Farraries & Rolls Royces, I think I'd rather have a Land Rover here. The other site I really liked was Stanley Park where the Red Ceder trees have survived for thousands of years. Saw a bald eagle here for 1 second. my first. If I was looking to move I'd definitely come here.

Hardly. Metro Vancouver is 2.3 million people. It is an amazing city. Everybody thinks they want to move there. But Canada won't let you move in unless you're bringing at least C$350,ooo.

Coming over from Parksville on VI on Sunday as well. We lucked out on four seats on the floor at the presale and booked a room right after that at a hotel right next door. Should be fun at the Shark Club before the concert! Looks like the rumours are starting to show some legs: http://blogs.vancouversun.com/2012/11/23/rumour-mill-is-bruce-springsteen-joining-paul-mccartney-onstage-in-vancouver/

Brian Ray has been in New Mexico the last couple of days. On FB he says he spent Thanksgiving in Santa Fe with his family, and posted a coffee shop photo from there earlier today. My guess is he is flying to Vancouver from Albuquerque, but I could be wrong. In any event, all performers should be there tomorrow, right? Maybe they will sound check the day before.

If you liked what you saw in Vancouver, you should come over to Vancouver Island, it's jaw dropping beautiful here.

Thats what people have been telling me since the 60's. Several friends from Haight Ashbury moved there when our commune broke up in '67 but guess what, I don't remember their last names. Could you be one? Sure don't have time right now, next trip I will definitly work it in. I also have to visit my cousin in Edmonton someday. So I'll be back maybe next summer. I want to see the sun come up at 5 & day light till 10 pm!

Ohh is my top city i would like to visit, i'd kill to see paul in Vancouver!

I haven't figured out to reply to specific messages on this board---it can't be that hard! But thanks Abbeycat! We're walking on the 12:30 from Departure Bay, but will get there super early because I'm sure parking will be crazy! Looking forward to a rocking boat ride! I am absolutely vibrating with excitement--I feel like I'm 5 and it's Christmas.

Ever been to Cortes Island? It is still a hippie commune and one of the most beautiful places I've ever been--from what I can remember...... Lots of herbal jazzies there.

Hit the quote button on the top right of the post you want to reply to. We'll be on the 10:30 ferry out of Nanaimo, walking on as well. Aside from the BC Ferries travel advisory for higher than normal volumes for Sunday and Monday, they are also warning about Parking for Departure Bay. You can always Park at the Bastion parkade if the other lot at the terminal is full. For those of you coming over from the ilsand, here's a link to the traffic warning: http://www.bcferries.com/travel_planning/plan_ahead.html Reserve a spot if you can still, that's the best way to guarantee a spot and then hope we don't get high winds! Looks like good weather though. I understand the kid at Christmas, this will be only my third time seeing him and the anticipation is killing me!

Hey Thanks RustyJake!!! That was easy! We're going to try to be at the terminal for 11:00 so if the lot is full, we still have time to get downtown and back. Thankfully the weather looks good--I would positively lose it if the ferries were cancelled!!!! My heart is exploding with love and excitement!!!

Never heard of Cortes Island. I say, you could spend a lifetime up here checking out the sites. What a life! Only thing that would cause me pause is that 10.0 your expecting. Thats pretty strong, 7.4 was bad enough for me. :

Welcome Lucy fur I've been lmao over your posts. Your ganna fit in just fine when you get here. Thats the magic, we all feel about 5 years old when Paul's around. I'm ganna go walking. Think I'll see if I can find Bill Reid's Gallery. Safe travel you guys.

I had to come back to say: THE SUN JUST CAME OUT ABOUT 20 MINUTES AGO & ITS STILL THERE!
-
Yep, the sun is out, which can only mean one thing: Paul is in the city. And if the rumors are true that Bruce will come out to play with Paul, I wonder if they are going to be doing the same songs they did in London, or if they are going to play songs from Paul's current setlist. I hope they don't change up the setlist they've had the last couple shows because they were too good! One more sleep!

Rumor has it that he will join Paul on Get Back. This evidently is now Paul's "special guest" number. Welcome to the board. It is refreshing to see a post calling for no change in the setlist.

Hope everyone has a great time there. I wonder if he is rehearsing tonight?
