I will be flying there, going to the concert, and flying back. I have to do this economically, which means I'd be flying into Oakland. Any Californians know how long would it take to cab from Oakland to Candlestick?

It's about a 30min drive more or less - cabbing it is probably your best bet (or UBER etc.) So question: is there no Macca.com pre-sale for this show, AmEx only?

Driving USA Tour, Back In The US Tour, 18th Annual Bridge School Benefit Concert, Coachella, Up And Coming Tour at the Hollywood Bowl & AT&T Park, One On One Tour Fresno, CA & Little Rock, AR, Desert Trip Indio, CA, Freshen Up Tour Green Bay, WI & \fingers crossed\ Los Angeles, CA

Even with the chilly August Candlestick nighttime weather, this will be a magical night. I would think media coverage that night for the show will be pretty heavy, too. I would think there'll be some kind of special MUNI bus transportation from downtown San Francisco to the show (a Magical Mystery Tour?), and maybe Sam Trans if you're staying near the San Francisco Airport (SFO). Hi Harley, How are you? I'll be going to this concert. I passed on the Outside Lands concert last year, but this Candlestick McCartney show is one I'm not going to miss. Hope to meet you and other boardies in person at the concert. Obviously, it's going to be a very special night. I'm glad I'll finally get to hear a few of the NEW songs performed live too. That album is sooo good. Marshall

A few thoughts from a San Franciscan. FWIW, I have no desire at all to see a concert in Candlestick after seeing Paul a few years ago in the vastly superior AT&T Park. 1: Candlestick is a cold, drafty hellhole. The Giants were basically tricked into picking the site by clever real estate guys who showed the site to them in the morning, before the wind kicks up. 2: Transportation and parking are difficult and, as noted, nearby amenities are scarce. For those coming to town, the nearest/most accessible hotels are probably ones near San Francisco International Airport. Getting there from hotels near downtown and major tourist areas will not be fun. 3: Someone asked about a cab ride from Oakland Airport to Candlestick. In light traffic it could be an hour or even a couple minutes less. But depending on when your flight arrives, you could catch rush hour traffic and that time could more than double easily. Even a minor accident on the Bay Bridge can screw things up spectacularly. You might take BART into SF and catch a cab for the last few miles. In any case, allow a large margin of error! I gotta say, much as I love Paul, this is one venue where I have zero desire to see him. There's a reason they're tearing the thing down.

Oh, one more thought on the above: I haven't checked prices, but it's possible the cost of a cab ride from Oakland airport might obliterate whatever you save by flying their instead of SFO. I'd check before buying tickets.

No, I don't! If there were some prospect of a drastically different set list I might change my mind, but it seems that Hell will freeze over (or Candlestick will be warm) first.

You were so lucky to hear those NEW songs live in Japan! On a personal level, I am glad that Paul will be playing this show at the Stick.I have so many memories of going to Giants games there until AT&T opened in 2000, as well as seeing that other band from England play the Stick, too, in 1981.
