No offense, but what are your sources, eric from boise, and how were you told ? Are your sources impeccable ? how is it that you found out? I tried to get on Hoffman's music forum, but for some reason was unable to access it this time, although I have, in the past. I tried several times this time. Will keep on trying.

      Thanks for info.

I don't see why Yankeefan "hated" McCartney 2; although of course music taste is subjective, mainly. Not all its songs are "weird" or unusual.

Simply put Suzy, I am not a fan of synth pop/electronica music which is the essence of "McCartney II". The only song of McCartney's that I dislike more than "Bip Bop" (lol) is "Temporary Secretary" which just grates on my last nerve listening to it. While others love "Coming Up", I find it repetitive and annoying.  The only song on "McCartney II" that I enjoy is "Waterfalls".  As you said music taste is subjective, to each their own -lol

You don't even like One Of These Days?  That's a pretty straightforward ballad, IMO...

I'm not crazy about Waterfalls but I do love me some Temporary Secretary!

Yikes ! I'd forgot about "Temporary Secretary" (shudders) I hate that one, if the new album's gonna be all like that, he can just sit on it, keep it to himself (laughs). I do love him though.

Wow, I was hoping for a McCartney 3 type of album because of the pandemic. It would have been great if Paul would have allowed us to watch the album being made daily on the internet. Hoping this is a true rumor.

That would be really cool... it's an exciting idea. Remember when he did that for Electric Arguments and it was amazing to watch him create the songs.

If there is going to be a McCartney lll album, it will be interesting to see where it was recorded. Presumably it will have been recorded in Paul's Sussex farmhouse and not at his private recording studios at Hog Hill Mill , a few miles away. I can't see Paul driving there, opening the place up and working alone when he would have no doubt a basic recording set-up at home. Because of the lock down, he will also have had to record the new album totally by himself, without the assistance of outside engineers or musicians. That would at least follow the pattern of McCartney (at least half of which was recorded at home in London) and McCartney II (which was mainly recorded alone at his 'holiday home' farm in Scotland).

I'm really hoping there will be an album, with a more stripped back organic sound rather than the clinical sounding mess that was Egypt Station.

'Give My Regards To Broad Street' film premier, London 29th November 1984.

Kestrel...are you trying to get me worked up on such a beautiful sunny and peaceful Sunday morning as I'm looking out at the Atlantic Ocean.  I would never call songs like "I Don't Know, Happy With You, Confidante, People Want Peace, Hand in Hand, Dominoes, Do It Now, Despite Repeated Warnings" etc. a "clinical sounding mess"?  To each his own.

I have to say that I like most of the songs and performances, its the 'sound' of Paul's vocals I don't like rather than the  quality of them. They sound very 'artificial', mainly due to the engineers having used all the technology at their disposal presumable in an attempt to 'improve'(sic) them. I'm really hoping  that Paul recording himself will have left his vocals sounding more natural.

In general, I find Paul's vocals on Egypt Station to be pretty good and quite natural.  The only exception to me is "Confidante" where I wished he would have gone back in the studio at a later date to improve his performance.  I wished his vocal on "Hand in Hand" (a beautiful song imo) was stronger but we are talking about a man in his latter 70's.  All in all, I like his vocals on all the other songs I mentioned.

"Egypt Station" is amazing and "how firm a foundation" (that line from an old hymn always reminds me of a girdle!) for his own artistic inspiration to continue his sublime roll, and for us to build our already sky high dizzying expections upon--and we just might be needing an extremely  big boost in the aftermath of the ultimate debacle, politically, in the U.S. (if that dire thing transpires). Or, more hopefully, another dazzling way to celebrate  the sweetest victory and relief. I'm crossing me fingers for the latter (OH, LET IT BE !!) .  This announcement here is just the best news we all, Paul fans and music fans, needed right now. Thank God something good happened

Can't see it either. Maybe it was the made up cover for the album that's going around.
