Paul tweeted about this. It's a wonderful interview on this podcast called "Smartless" hosted by actors Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes and Will Arnett

I listened to this yesterday - pretty good! BTW, rated R for language - even Paul drops an f-bomb!

Are they actors? I didn't know that as I've never herad of any of them. Paul obviously has though. It was a good podcast but too much time was wasted by the three hosts talking to each other rather than to their guest.

Yes - all 3 are relatively famous actors in the U.S. Sean Hayes played Jack on the show "Will & Grace." Look them up on imdb.com.

Thanks for posting! That was a great interview. Since they knew of Paul and his music, they could ask some decent questions. Really enjoyed some new info.

Thanks for the info. I've heard "Will & Grace" being mentioned before but I've never watched it. Perhaps next week Paul can be interviewed by Clint Eastwood, Bruce Willis and Johnny Depp? You know, proper actors who people have heard of?

Paul must have been reading this thread and taken note and he's got Indris Elba to converse with him now.

Indris Elba, People magazine 2018 Sexiest Man of the Year...they're having a sexiest man club meeting! Now that's cool news. Looking forward to those photos.

It's Idris Elba.
It could have been worse, I nearly typed Indris Elbow.

Amazing they started talking about No More Lonely Nights. Was hoping Paul would sing along just a snippet when Sean Hayes sang the line "and if it takes a couple of years to turn your tears to laughter." I'd be over the moon to hear Paul sing any of that masterpiece, even in his current voice. Would be so cool just to hear 2020 Paul sing "I can wait another day...". It was rehearsed for the '02 tour. Gosh I wonder what it sounded like then...

Some of us were just talking about this on FB! Apparently Brian Ray told one poster that they had rehearsed it, but Paul didn't like the way it sounded, so it was dropped from the setlist! His voice was fabulous in 2002 - would have loved to have heard NMLN!! In interviews now, whenever Paul sings a snippet of a song, he sounds horrible. It's so sad!
-
Wow, cool that Brian confirmed rehearsal of NMLN. They would've played it together at least a few times to try it out, gotta be at least a rough recording of it somewhere. Wix also confirmed a few years ago that Silly Love Songs had been rehearsed (about 10 yrs ago). His voice around that time could've handled it on a good day.

Would have been great if No More Lonely Nights had made it on stage, especially on the 1989-90 tour when his voice was so close to when it was recorded. Guess it is similar to how I Don't Know, another piano classic, has never been done live but at least the 2018 Glasgow sound check version of that is on YouTube.
