I think I'll wait for the sooper-dooper deluxe edition where all four 'secret' demos (+ others) are all located on one cd.

I love the responses. Already Team McCartney are upsetting the fans.

Yeah, they sure seem to be just trying to increase sales since they can't do the "give aways" with concert ticket purchase like the last album.

The really sad aspect to all this is that should the album get to #1, people will understandably be screaming that it was hyped to the top spot by clever marketing and not because it was a great album musically.

Yes, this kind of thing is really irritating for fans, and I really wish they wouldn't go this direction.  I'll probably end up buying them because of this "sickness" that I have, and then there will be some sort of deluxe edition that I will buy that will include each of these.

I think back to the interviews I've heard where they talk about the Beatles practice of generally not putting singles on albums; that they didn't want record buyers have to purchase songs they already had.  I guess times have changed.

Can anyone tell me what the difference is between, for example, the Secret Demo Edition White Cover CD (US $7.33) and the Deluxe Edition White Cover CD ($14.33)?  There are t-shirt and dice deluxe editions that don't interest me, but I'm curious if there is any difference in audio content between the $7.33 and $14.33 editions.

I can justify a little paying about $30 for the 4 cheap CDs to get the 4 extra demos.  I just wish it would be explained what you are getting.

$140 for the album plus 4 demos. Nope.

I remember buying the first McCartney solo album back in high school shortly after it came out.  Think I got it at Woolworths, a store long deceased.  As a non- working teenager, I literally scrapped together the money.   Even though I could buy these various editions, I think I will honor the concept of the 1970 album and just buy one.

As someone else said,we all know there will be a deluxe edition, might they call it the Lockdown Rockdown edition?

I'm too stingy (and poor, probably) to want to buy the extras, especially just "dice" and extras with dice on them. All the  "merch." Also, I'm not a child and don't have to have toys!  Or not many "toys" anyway. Sure, that Egypt Station suitcase  is really cute, but I'm more interested in "just" the music.

On the other hand--my brother is a classic supposedly immature "geek" and collected all kinds of toys and stuff all his life  and kept it all in pristine condition and now I hear he has to have an accountant ! And apparently doesn't have to hold a regular job ! Just a sort of nothing part-time one.  That's wild ! So was I really the "smart" one after all, LOL. Not to want to collect all that Batman, Superman, Star Wars and X-Men comics and such. Mountains of it. (sobs)

                                    * I'm sorry for the google translator.

"It's great that the white version of the "McCARTNEY III" record is now exclusive to American record stores.

But it's a shame, because I'm in a Japanese store.

In addition, it's very frustrating that the various bundled versions will be available exclusively at the Universal Music Store. Japan has an anti-trust law, and any method by which a manufacturer threatens a store's sales could be a violation of that law. I hope the reputation of the fans will not be tarnished. I've been a big fan of Paul for a long time and started a record store, but it's a shame, it's the big companies that win at COVID after all.

SHOP LET IT BE (from JAP)

I'll give Paul a pass on this one.  This is probably the result of various Capitol and MPL marketing geeks who have nothing else to do.  All the biggest artists and their marketing arms are doinig these types of things to increase sales.  I don't believe Paul has the time to do these kinds of marketing games.  He's too busy working on new songs.

It wasn't that long ago I was watching a video of a meeting being held at MPL between Paul and a bunch of marketing guys and he was listening to their ideas and was either agreeing or disagreeing with them. I'm fairly sure that there isn't  any promotion going on without his approval. But its true that everyone is jumping on the bandwagon now and as the old saying goes, 'if you can't beat them, join them'.

Between the US & UK there are now (at least) 38 permutations of items that can be bought regarding McCartney lll. Good luck to anyone who really has to have everything.
