The other evening I watched the Give My Regards To Broad Street film in its entirity, which is probably for the first time since I saw it at its London premier. And I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed it. Okay,so its not perfect but its certainly not as bad as I remembered it. Or more to the point, its not as bad as the reviews have suggested over the years and which may have influenced my memory of it. I think it came out on video cassesste in the UK but I don't think its ever had a dvd or blu ray release? If so,that's a shame as I think its high time for the film to be reappraised. Its worth a release just to see Inspector 'The Bill' Galloway hand Paul McCartney his guitar !!!

I've just checked on-line and there just appears to be the North American Region 1 dvd, with nothing released in Europe or the UK at all.

I liked it too, mostly for the music and also having Ringo in it as well!

P.S. I have it in VHS and DVD.

No extras on the DVD, just the regular and widescreen versions of the movie. Hopefully this will be re-released someday with extras and released for viewing in all regions!

Got to say I enjoyed it as well. When it came out, four years after the death of a Lennon, I thought he was doing it in lieu of touring since that obviosly entails personal safety risk.  Thank goodness 1989 proved me wrong on his not touring again.  .  I enjoyed seeing it on the big screen, especially the Not Such a Bad Boy, So Bad, No Values live segment.  Have it on an old VHS and watched it last year and it has aged well. The plot was limp but it's all about the music.

There is a line in the movie from Ringo that I repeat to this day.

The band is rehearsing in a cold warehouse and Ringo states and asks, "Can we have some heat or are we

practicing to be Canadians." Just for that line, the movie is worth it.

Yeah, leave it Ringo to have the best line! 😂

I agree with John Mackintosh about the musical segments - I didn't care that the plot was weak!

2024 (which isn't that far away really) will be the films 40th anniversary so hopefully we'll have a worldwide re-issue then.

I didn't actually think the plot was that bad. It was after all based on a real event that had happened. I must say though that having the tapes just laying on a station platform bench all day unnoticed with the assistant trapped in a shed was stretching things a bit.

I really love the film , and have the region 1 DVD . High time it had a proper UK release . I often watch it near to Christmas - not sure why . I love the atmosphere in the film , can't quite explain it . So many great quirky little scenes . As others have said it's not perfect , but I think it's really underrated .

I actually prefer it to A Hard Days Night 😱

I have a copy of it and enjoy watching it once in awhile. I like the songs, and enjoyed that it was Paul. Ringo is an added bonus to film.

For a nanosecond when Ringo said I'm on drums - I thought he said I'm on drugs. But I corrected it in my thoughts.

If the same movie from their ideas was made by most any musician out there, I would not be that interested in it ...

So it obvious that it was because it was Paul ...

I like the songs in it a lot and do grin at some of the quirkiness of the characters.
