Thanks for sharing this.  Paul seems very down to earth and well-grounded, despite the fact that he has more than enough to make him financially secure.

McCartney described himself as a “keeper” rather than a hoarder. “If I go somewhere and I get whatever I bought in a nice bag, I will want to keep the bag," he explained. "My rationale is that I might want to put my sandwiches in it tomorrow. Whereas Nancy says, ‘We’ll get another bag.’”

I understand wanting to keep a nice bag.  Especially if it's pretty paper or a nice color.  And it can be saved and used when you need a bag in a hurry, rather than having to buy one.  With all respect to Nancy, I don't get the justification of "We'll get another bag" because if you find you need one, and didn't save any, that means you've got to make an extra trip to buy one... just to pack a sandwich which now has to wait for a bag... when you could have just used the bag you saved...   Doesn't seem like good time management...or being a good steward by re-using and recycling...  but that's just me.   I realize that saving 200 bags can create clutter, but as long as there's a container and place for everything, it wouldn't be untidy.

Funny about keeping bags.  I save nice bags that I get in my travels and keep them in my suitcase. It keeps really happy travel remembrances for me, especially the blue tile prints on bags from Holland and I can keep my travel items separated in the suitcase. I also like to save the gift bags from gifts, They are so pretty and it feels good to recycle them for a gift to someone else, so they can enjoy it too.

Yes, there are memories attached to so many things, bags included!

              I do the same thing!

Yes, some bags are just too pretty to throw away!  It's good to re-use them.  Plastic "shop bags" are good for packing and protecting sweaters and socks too, or anything that you don't want to get snagged in your suitcase.

I saw where Paul said it's nice to have money, cause you can help family and friends when they need it. Maybe I shouldn't bring this up, but his nephew Sonny had a bad motorcycle accident a few years ago and lost one of his legs below the knee. I saw that on Sonny's Insta.  I'll wager his Uncle Paul helped him financially  then. Sonny's a photographer, and a very talented shutter bug.

Sonny took some of the photos for McCartney III.

Postcards, booklets, posters, pressed flowers, hotel stationary, CD’s of museums major exhibits, concert programs  and Costco has these really cool photo books.  One of my travel friends has made photo books for each trip, really nice memories
