BEST SONG ON EACH BEATLES ALBUM.......13 ALBUMS
-
I read an article in Far Out Magazine on the subject. It concluded the following for each of the Beatles 13 albums:
I Saw Her Standing There........"Please Please Me"
It Won't Be Long......"With The Beatles"
A Hard Day's Night......"A Hard Day's Night"
No Reply......"Beatles For Sale"
Help!......"Help!"
Norwegian Wood....."Rubber Soul"
Here, There and Everywhere...."Revolver"
A Day In The Life....Sgt. Pepper's"
Strawberry Fields Forever...."Magical Mystery Tour"
While My Guitar Gently Weeps......."White Album"
All You Need Is Love....."Yellow Submarine Songtrack"
Here Comes The Sun....."Abbey Road"
Let It Be....."Let It Be"
Interesting. I'll have to think about it.

A Day In The Life is always listed as the best Beatles song, but I don't think it's the best one on Sgt. Pepper's! I would go with the title track, Lucy or She's Leaving Home.
And All My Loving is my pick on With The Beatles.
I like all the other choices, but there are so many good songs on each of the albums, it's like picking your favorite child!

My top picks from High School, which are almost the same today...

Michelle ~ RS
Good Day Sunshine ~ Revolver
When I'm 64 ~ SPLHCB
Strawberry Fields Forever ~ MMT
Dear Prudence ~ White Album
All You Need is Love ~ YS
Because~AR
The Long and Winding Road ~ LIB

I'm sorry, the notion of picking a best song on albums with so many great songs on them is an insane thing to attempt. I'll pass. In some cases I might have favorites -- though even that's tough -- but best? Nah.

I generally shy away from "Best" and "Worst" lists. Everything is subjective as far as I am concerned, so best-worst really can't be determined. I stick to "Favorite and Least Favorite" designations. Several on the magazine list I would also choose, but there are several others I would not. I am very partial to George's "I Need You," from Help!...even at the expense of "Yesterday" and "Ticket To Ride." I love Paul's "Things We Said Today" from A Hard Day's Night...but also "I Should Have Known Better." "I'm a Loser" and "What Your're Doing" from Beatles For Sale are favorites. I would be particular to "Penny Lane" from Magical Mystery Tour" and "Hey Bulldog" from "Yellow Submarine Songtrack." It's a tosssup between "Something" and "Here Comes The Sun" from Abbey Road.
