Yeah, Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo... but I seriously doubt he will return here in just 3 months' time.

More rumors about Paul in Brazil. According to rumors Paul will arrive in Brazil between May and August.

Are we going to have Paul celebrating 80 years in Brazil? Fingers crossed!

How odd that Morumbi Stadium is being considered, instead of the stadium in which he played back in 2014, 2017 and 2019... if there's any truth behind those rumors, of course.

How safe would it be for a nearly 80-year-old man to do the kind of concerts he's gotten used to (thousands of people together) during this pandemic?

I suppose he could put a limit to the number of people in a stadium (let's say, 50% capacity), but tickets would be twice as expensive. He's not going to cut his fee by 50%, after all.

I don't know... I would like to see him one more time, but at the same time I have a feeling it would be a big risk for him to tour in the next few months, no matter the time.

First of all, I doubt it will be August. Paul always takes that month off and the go to the Hamptons.

As to his safety, I just heard that people over 65 who are vaccinated twice + booster shot have a 90% less chance of being hospitalized or dying from Covid. It's not like Paul will be crowd surfing or bringing anyone up on stage. Everyone he is in close contact with would have to be tested daily. He would be safer than the audience! (and I doubt very seriously if they'd reduce the crowd capacity at all)

I think there's a good chance for the rumors become true. Morumbi Stadium may have been chosen because it is bigger and it allows cheaper tickets (I don't believe they would reduce the capacity of the audience).

The Stones did some gigs in the US a few months ago and Mick is 78. Why Paul at 79 can't do the same? He has been at several events without mask (like "Rock and Roll of Fame") and hosted a party in the Hamptons last year with a lot of celebreties, so it seems he is "ok" with the situation. As NJR said, Paul will be safer than the audience: he flies private, he can stay longer at the hotel, he shouldn't call anyone to stage and I'm sure his staff will always be tested. The real point is if Paul and his team will be confident about the safety of the audience, as it impossible to predict the pandemic future. But I think there's a good chance for the man to get back on the road again.

I've just read that the Marketing Director of Morumbi Stadium said a few days ago that 3 shows might take place at the stadium in 2022. You have to be a great artist to perform there, because it's a big venue, so I think there's a good chance for Paul.

If the marketing director of the stadium says 3 shows might happen there this year and considering that the rumor from Argentina is that Paul's team is in negotiations with the venue, I guess anything is possible. It's his decision, after all.

Regarding reducing the number of people at Morumbi Stadium, the rumor from Argentina (link posted above by our friend Andrew) made it clear that Paul's staff is looking for big stadiums so that social distancing can be enforced. Here's the actual quote:

"Teniendo en cuenta la situación sanitaria por la pandemia de coronavirus, el staff de Paul busca grandes estadios para cumplir con distanciamiento social".

That should not be a problem with the seats around the field (they can block some of them so that people are kept apart, just like they have been doing with movie theaters in Brazil), but they would also have to put reserved seats in the field, a couple of meters apart from one another, if they are serious about enforcing social distancing. That would reduce the number of available tickets and increase the prices.

Time will tell. If he does return, it will certainly be a different experience from his previous tours. I've been vaccinated 3 times already anyway, so if I have the time and the money I'll try to attend at least one concert.

The Argentina rumours are interesting. Frankly if Paul does tour, I have thought that he would stick to outdoor/stadium shows which are safer, even when not distanced.  The problem with tours vs one or two concerts, is that if outbreaks happen with the musicians or crew, the shows will have to be postponed. Elton John just restarted his many-times-postponed Farewell Tour and then he came down with Covid, so he had to cancel a couple of shows.  There is a US band called War on Drugs that started their tour and were taking all precautions, including cancelling the opening acts they were supposed to have, but a member of their crew caught Covid so they had to postpone some shows. Omicron broke out last year just before Springsteen was going to announce a Euro tour. They waited to announce and then decided to cancel the whole tour. It's the uncertainty that makes it hard to plan. I would love to see Paul on stage again and I hope it happens, but I understand the caution.

I have never heard of this particular reseller or know anyone who has purchased from them... but interesting that this has just popped up out of nowhere.  And this venue is in a casino; not the kind of venue Paul usually plays.

Interesting; they usually don't play casinos, either.

...and Rod Stewart is playing there tonight, and tomorrow night I think.

Billy Joel just played there, and I think Elton is due to soon as well.

So it seems they are really hammering the vintage acts!

Would not be at all surprised if this show was announced for Paul.

After seeing the Stones there in November, and staying at the hotel, it is really great to just be able to walk down from your hotel room, grab a beer, and hit the show!
