Please read Eleanor Rigby thread
-
No controversy - just some things that were sent to me by Peter Hodgson, a friend of mine from Liverpool, who did a lot of genealogical research. He's the Louis Gates, Jr. of England! (Finding Your Roots TV show) Thanks!

Well I see 14 views of this, but nobody actually responded on the thread! 🧐
I'm perplexed because I know everyone would love the post I made of the census info of Eleanor Rigby's great-grandfather!

Wow! That's great. You could tell us more. I am curious.

I posted everything my friend sent about Eleanor. Did you see what I was talking about? (Her great-grandfather's occupation?)

No. I don't know where it is. You could tell me. Then I'll go and have a look.

I think you found it (the thread) since you responded, but the significance went over your head because you aren't familiar with The Beatles history as others here are. That's why I am disappointed nobody else answered/posted on the other thread.

I am sorry. Indeed, I don't know the subject Eleanor Rugby very well. I've only heard a little about it in newspaper articles about the Beatles. But that's about it. I wanted to answer because I'm interested and I didn't want to leave you behind, and also because I think it's a shame, because the subject is great.

That is quite funny, his occupation was listed as "Quarreymen" which was the name of group formed by Lennon and eventually became "The Beatles" !!

j/k
interesting occupation ....
and it ties in well ... to those who know.

Thanks for replying! It actually says "Quarry man."
Insane coincidence though!

Little Willow, read what Yankeefan & I wrote.

Is there a mine in Liverpool where there would be a lot of Quarrymen? I know there are a lot of underground mines, such as salt mines that are causing sink holes around the UK. The roofs cave in and the ground above them become a sinkhole.

I don't know. William Whitfield lived in Woolton, though.

There was a quarry just behind St Peter's Church from which the Quarry Bank school got its name. Presumably this was the same quarry where William Whitfield worked.

Very cool!! Thanks for the info!

Btw, the "Fuss Over Eleanor Rigby" thread is in the Yesterday forum, not this forum. I should have made that clear earlier! Thanks!
