It is so annoying!

I agree with you Nancy. I feel like there's more and more of it.
This worries me a lot. -
It must be annoying for whoever is deleting all the posts & threads! I wonder if they can close new people joining or at least try to verify that they are really fans.

Calico is having to delete all of them. They just keep making new profiles and posting more! There's no way to verify. Even if they asked questions like some FB groups do before you can join (like "What is Paul's brother's name?") they could just look it up through Google! I doubt they'd want to close out new people from joining but they might have to, temporarily!

Well, they need to do something. And soon! Maybe she can get the powers that be also fix some of the problems that STILL exist here!

You are very optimistic my little oobu24. I think that the people who manage Mr. McCartney's commercial and media communication would rather concentrate on social networks like Facebook or Twitter than on a forum that hardly interests anyone anymore. That even the two people who delete these spams. I'm not sure they can do anything for us. Apart from passing on information, and then again. Can they do that ?

I am not optimistic about anything around here but it doesn't hurt to give them a little nudge. This forum hardly interests anyone because of all the things that don't work here.

Yes, I agree with you. It's a vicious circle. The worse the forum gets, the less people there are and so on.

Nope, I'm not holding my breath but ya never know...someone may see it.

Even after being deleted, the posts hang around, so you have to check 4 pages here to make sure you haven't missed a new "real" post from someone!
I posted something that is stuck at the very end of the 4 pages. Was in answer to Leslie's post.

The makers of this site need to upgrade the security to prevent these annoying little spambots from getting through.

They need to do a lot of things around here!

I get the impression that from the outset the job of creating these boards was contracted out to a company and since then no one knows what to do to fix the problems that invariably occur over time. Ideally rather than try and upgrade these tired and out of date boards, they would be better off scrapping them completely and starting a fresh one with a new look.

Starting all over sounds like a great idea. There are sooo many things that need to be done. There are things missing here that are just commonplace most everywhere else. Automatic spell checker, clickable links, all this nonsence about quoting pictures, embedding youtubes, etc.

If they get a new board can someone give me the name and address so I can find it?

And how come some of the spam doesn't have a Report link at the bottom?!

I don't think the shortcomings of this forum has that much to do with the interest in this forum. Plain and simple, Paul McCartney is and older artist with fan base that is dwindling due to age. In addition, most of the interest the last decade has been due to his tours and without him touring the posting has diminished.
You are 100% correct that too many things on this forum do not work well but to be honest with you that complaint is the same on most of these type of forums. I have participated in a couple of other forums for sports, theater and other artists and you read about the same type of complaints.
