Absolutely Toris. I've seen Paul like 10 times (Philadelphia, Atlantic City and Washington DC) and unfortunately never heard "Mull of Kintyre" live. Great lyrics too. It's a song that i think Paul can still sing well to this day. I've seen video's of Paul and Band doing it in Vancouver as late as 2015 (maybe even 2017) and he nailed the vocal. You are so right...Paul seemed to only bring it out in the UK or Canada.
2017 Concert in Australia.... Melbourne... Paul playing the three or four chord brilliant song... and then out comes the band with the bagpipes... only Paul could've made bagpipes "sexy"... another example of his brilliance.
Thanks Toris. I thought Paul played it on a fairly recent tour (2017). That must have veen mindblowing for you. I always thought he should have done it in NYC at one of the Madison Square Garden show. That's one of the reasons "Mull" isn't as well known in the USA. Also back in 1977 when the single came out, our radio "geniuses" decided to play the b-side (Girls'School) instead.

Love this great piano ballad with great lyrics. We, of course, don't want him to sing it for a long, long time.

Beautiful song. It should have caught on easily. If Paul ever did this at a U.S.A. Concert that I went to ... I would be shouting yes!!!! Inside and doing flips in a good way inside with a big smile.
when I went to Ireland a few years ago ... someone pointed in the direction of The Mull Of Kintyre and I was grinning just knowing it was there. The song kept going on in my head (not a bad thing at all) ... and I wondered why it wasn't a bigger more played song in the U.S.A.
The marketing, record, media can make some goofy decisions that keep many from hearing and knowing the song. I have always liked the song and have even played my own acoustic version on my guitar for the fun of it. -

Beautiful song and I do love it. Two songs from that album I would add because he only did them live a couple of times and they should have been done an entire tour. The first song was "That Was Me" which is great uptempo rocker about Paul looking back at his amazing life. Go to youtube and check it out when he did it live in Paris, got very good reaction from the French audience. The other I would add is "House of Wax" and I know some people don't really like it but IMO it is wonderful haunting song with a couple of nice little guitar solos. Not easy song to sing either but McCartney did it well in Paris. It is another song you can check out on youtube for the live performance of the song.

My constant headache is finally gone but my wife and I have lost our sense of smell and taste. My oldest daughter is the lucky one, no symptoms. I guess the good news about this if there is any is that the natural antibodies after having COVID will be like getting a booster shot.

So sorry to hear this, but glad your symptoms were minor. My sense of smell didn't return for almost 3 months, so be prepared. Food still tasted good to me, though so of course I gained weight!
Finally got back on my treadmill and have lost 3 lbs. in about 2 weeks (need to lose a LOT more)Take care and keep us posted.

I've since changed my mind.

But, for some reason, it didn't get the same attention as it did in other parts of the world. Kind of strange, that. Record companies? The suits? I don't know.... but, it's one of his greats. Simple. Melodic. And broke all records in the UK.

Don't feel bad Nancy. I have the same struggle with my weight. I guess as we get older, our metabolism really slows down. That's only a guess but that's my main theory. My frustration is that I generally eat good foods (no sweets, no fast food, no alcohol etc) but I'm still gaining. I'm also trying to exercise more but that's also hard living in Florida in the summer with this excessive heat.
For me, it's not the quality of my food intake, it's the quantities. I just eat too much good food. It's a struggle I'm always going to have I guess so I just have to face up to it. Stay with good foods but eat less and keep exercising. Right now I'm like 20 lbs. over where I should be. Hopefully, as we leave the summer and cooler weather prevails, I'll do better.

Who said that McCartney couldn't write lyrics?
I love Seize the Day, and think it deserves a lot more attention, but in my opinion The Kiss of Venus is the "classic" from McCartney 3.
I think it and most of the other songs being listed in this thread would definitely fit it on a Beatles album if they had been written at the time.
I agree with you McCall. "The Kiss of Venus" is also a Paul "classic"

I took the meaning of your thread literally and selected songs not well known to the general public. The three songs above are probably as well known as some Beatle songs IMO. I will add one more suggestion for you and it is obscure to most people even those on this board and it is "About You" from "Driving Rain". Great rocker and why it was not done on the "Driving Rain" tour is beyond me -lol.

I have not had appetite to eat so I might be losing weight -lol. Worse thing about this (lol) is I can't play tennis for a couple of weeks. Thanks for you concern.

Great to finally get a nomination from the "Driving Rain" album. Terrific choice with good lyrics. Another case where Paul has never played it "live". Because Paul has never played it on tour, "About You" is definitely "less known" than many on our list, but that imo doesn't keep it from being a"classic" candidate. If Paul ever gets back to touring, "About You" is a song Paul should definitely add. With the help of his Band vocally, he could easily do it well.

Both songs have the 2 ingredients necessary to be considered "classics"...great distinctive melody and great lyrics imho.
