'I didn't instigate the split': Paul McCartney reveals 'John Lennon walked into a room and said ''I am leaving the Beatles''' as he insists he had nothing to do with group's break-up and 'wanted the band to continue'

I think Mr McCartney is sincere. I'm not going to say anything more. I'm a little tired of this subject, which has been debated thousands and thousands of times.

Couldn't agree more Yankeefan.  This is old, old news.  People know whether it is a John fan or a Paul fan that John came into that famous "Apple"meeting with all the Beatles' present and said he was in love with Yoko and he was leaving the Group.  This happened way before Paul released his first Solo Album "McCartney".  Allen Klein the Beatles' Manager at the time wanted all the Beatles to stay "quiet" temporarily about John's decision to leave the Group (for a whole lot of busienss reasons) which all the individual Beatles' in the short term complied.  Allen Klein became their Manager because 3 of the 4 Beatles wanted Klein to take over their business affairs.  It was because Paul vehemently opposed to KLein being their Manager and  running the Beatles' Business Affairs that Paul subsequently felt the need to "sue" the other 3 Beatles in order to keep Klein from getting control of the Group.  So while Paul was the first to publicly announce his first Solo album and that his own family was more important to him than the Beatles,  it was John that techically first stated in  a formal prior Apple meeting  his strong desire to leave the Group.

They have books to sell, a "newer" documentary, albums ...

                    shine the spotlight.....

I can tell why the groups that I have ever been in broke up and it would sound like their stories with different names and no fame .... no spotlight ...

I should probably delete this.... or let it stay ... I don't know....

Paul didn't "feel the need to sue the other 3 Beatles" he first wanted to sue Klein, but his father-in-law, Lee Eastman, told him he would have to sue the other 3 Beatles, which he reluctantly did. (and saved all 4 of them a bundle from that crook Klein!)

Does it really matter at this point who broke them up or why? It has been discussed for over 50 years, they broke up and it this really needs to be put to bed IMO -lol.  On a personal note, I hope you had great time up north. Shoot me a PM and let me know how things went. I sent you one several weeks ago which I think you have not read.
