It should be live on iPlayer at 9.30 UK time, as the rest of the festival has been shown live there since yesterday. Knowing Macca though, he's probably arranged an hour's delay to "fix" sound-related things....

Yup, got it one Briaboy. Nothing on tv, radio or iPlayer till 10.30. And yet every other artist on the bill have had their sets broadcast live. Hmm...

SO annoying, WHY? Every other artist at the festival has gone out live. I seem to remember that the Stones and the Who also demanded a one hour delay when tyhey played Glasto....

Watching the Glastonbury performance now - it makes me glad that I saw him live in the seventies when he was at his absolute peak as a singer, songwriter and musician. Great band, great atmosphere, I'm sure that most of the crowd are pleased to see a legend who did his best work before they were born. He still adores playing to massive crowds and it keeps him fit for his age, but the voice has completely gone. Still, the crowd know every word and sing along to cover it up.

Much as the static set list and patter bug the hell out of me it's probably perfect for a gig like this where the audience is mainly casual fans

Do you know what, nothing personal against you (honestly it's not) but I'm bloody sick of posts like this. I mean hey, if people who think that keep their fingers crossed he'll be de@d soon then you'll be spared if his live voice. I mean ffs. Ok, I'm stroppy tonight, knackered, feel ill, first night if my weeks holiday away with my son and it's going to rain all week and my foot is numb. I'm chilling watching glasto, and thought I'd check the forum. My mistake.

I'll put some context to that mini rant, it's just when he started got to get you into my life I surprised myself by selling up from nowhere - it reminds me of all the gigs I've been to, he played it at my first in 1990, buying revolver Xmas 86, just my life. Paul's been my life, as he is for many here, but when you older (47) and an illness that gives you an uncertain future, you realise what has meant things to you the most, and Paul has made me so happy. And I'm happy he's still here, and his voice isn't what it was but it's not that bad. I get sick of negativity from fans. I love him, I'm glad he's not dead. And I wish I wasn't ill. Night night, I'm watching Paul on telly.

I agree 100%! Like I said a few weeks ago here on another thread, everybody has the right to their opinions and posts, but it just goes on and on here, it never stops. I'm not saying everybody has to be sunshine and roses all the time, but the amount of negativity that goes on here... good grief. No matter what Paul does or says, the negativity comes out and it's getting old.

I love Paul's music from day one, even though the last few albums have in my opinion been nothing special. He has such a magnificent back catalogue, he doesn't need to prove anything.
In case anyone misunderstands, my comments about his voice are not negativity. It's great to see him still drawing the crowds and looking great for 80 - I just find it difficult to hear him struggling to hit notes when he's done so many great performances over the years. He's an inspiration for us oldies - his Lyrics collection was so lovingly put together, a real treat. -

The amount of negativity is maybe 2% of posts on this board IMO. If you think it is negativity to want Paul to sing more of his great solo songs live than that is negativity most musical artists would not mind sharing -lol. There has been some mild comments about how is voice has gone downhill but in those same comments most people say that he is 80 and it is understandable. Finally, several have posted he needs some new stories to tell at his shows but it is very gentle teasing.
Posters like BJ and myself who you probably think are negative about his set list selections post 100 times more positive comments about his great songwriting and solo albums. We are the ones wishing he would win Grammy awards when he is nominated. We have often mentioned how amazing Paul is still doing 2-3 hour show even at his age. Others post many nice things about Paul and flattering pictures of him and his family over the years.
So in the end, this is a Paul McCartney fan forum. We all came her because we love his work and for the most part like him personally from what we have read over the years. That being said, we are grown adults and not fanboy/fangirls and once in awhile we will not praise something he said or did. The light criticism IMO he receives is fair and nobody attacks him in a mean spirited way. BTW - if you think the criticm is bad here you should read all the "negativity" Jon Bon Jovi got on his recent tour. We all are saints compared to his "fans" -lol

There is nothing wrong with wanting Paul to sing certain songs, other songs, etc on his tours, but when it's said over and over again throughout his recent tour (or any tour the past 10 years), time after time, it comes out more like negativity and complaining more than anything else.
Nobody is saying everybody has to fangirl/fanboy over him constantly like it's 1964 again, I don't think anybody has said that here, but it gets tiresome to open threads to read and the first thing you see is the same complaining, or open a brand new thread to see someone complaining that Paul said this or didn't say that or didn't do this thing he should have done while doing this other thing. I think it happens here more than you realize.
