Macca said in 1986 that he wasn't able to mindfully retain events and career achievements on a chronological level.

Well, maybe, but there are parts of his career that he seems to remember pretty well when putting together his set lists, and parts that he appears to forget entirely.

Remember when Jimmy Kimmel asked Macca what was the very first Lennon/McCartney composition? Oy.

I actually don't remember what he told Kimmel about the first Lennon-McCartney composition. What did he say?

great. He only needs to start a real "Paul McCartney Solo Tour" and perfome that show around the world!

Paul should definitely reach into the deeper cuts and leave behind Let Me Roll It, Hey Jude, Eleanor Rigby, and Maybe I'm Amazed. I get it more and more new fans go to his shows but for a band that has been touring on a regular basis since 2002 I think he can get a few passes at deeper cuts. (It'll be his fifth stop in the Detroit area in 13 years) But at 38 songs these days and a varied setlists between tours I think a few regulars are an ok compromise. However there are a TON of Solo songs that need a live debut; cough cough...Beautiful Night.

My prediction: he will keep it and play a song from the Tug Of War album as well.

Elvis Presley tried that once: opening night Las Vegas 1974. To his ears and thinking the general reception was underwhelming. The next night he was back to the stock standard audience pleasing numbers. Like Elvis, Paul's a populist - not a brave artist (at least on stage).

I can see it already. He'd have to read the prompter for the entire show. He already relies on it for songs like Ob-La-Di...which he's been singing since 2009! He wouldn't just be glancing at it. He'd have to be glued to it!

It'd be a great opportunity for so many songs yep. But he also spoke about performing New in it's entirety and doing an all Fireman show too. He rattles these ideas off from time to time usually when he has something to push. Some ideas come to fruition, but many do not. That's Paul.

I could see him sticking in Take It Away for the October concerts though. I think it's a great concert number (and one that many on the board have mentioned as well) and would coincide nicely with his re-release of Tug of War. -Rubber Soul13
