I think the drunks are the worst,Then the people who have to talk (yell ) to each other the entire time .Then there's the cell phone users calling everyone they can think of... Please don't put down the ones that have to sit down, I have a very bad back & sometimes after standing for awhile I have to sit down for a couple minutes...then I get back up,in pain but back up enjoying Paul

I go back so far,I'm in front of me

I haven't had much rudeness from fans at Paul's concerts. In Philly, everyone stood up when he came out (like they always do) and I was on the first raised level of the arena, and before he even started Venus and Mars, there was a whole row of grey behind me yelling at me to sit down. Needless to say, I stood all the way through "All My Loving". I'm not gonna be a jerk and stand through the whole concert when we're technically in the risers (the floor is a different story) but I'm excited and paid my money too, so let me stand for a few songs!!! However, most of the rudeness I have encountered at Paul's concerts...is with the security!!! Citi Field and Yankee Stadium security were absolutely RIDICULOUS. Anyone that was there that second night especially knows. I've never had such trouble with security out of the 30+ different concerts I've been to! I was yelled at countless times for photography (I just have a little point and shoot!) and I was yelled at for standing, after they dragged a guy out for it during "Let Em In" I figured I might as well sit...but we were in the 20th row! UGH! : : :

I hate it when people act like jerks at concerts. If you really need the booze and to talk, wait for the dvd, sit at home with your booze and talk to your hearts content. The rest of us want to enjoy the show.

I've been pretty fortunate with the two Paul concerts I've been to not to have encountered really rude people in the areas I was sitting. I did have a bit of a problem at the San Francisco concert with tons of people lighting joints since the smell of marijuana makes me sick to my stomach, so that was a bit rough for me.

A man was pushing everybody to get a better view and he hurt me, he was looking at everybody angry. In the middle of the concert he did it again to get out now angrier and was screaming to his girlfriend.

One of the worst experiences was in San Francisco 2010: 2 young couples directly in front of us...the guys were o.k., very much into the music. I don't think the 2 girls knew where they were...they talked throughout the entire show, about fashions, gossip about their friends, where they went that day, about hair & makeup, blah blah blah...drinking tequila directly out of flasks, getting louder and more unsteady as the night wore on. They became more and more giggly and giddy. I thought they were going to puke on us since they spend most of the time standing sideways to the stage, yakking at each other. Finally towards the end they seemed to get very very quiet. : San Jose in 2005...bunch of knuckleheads behind us were very rude to me. I am very polite and only stand if others around me stand, and I only hold my sign in between songs. They stay seated the entire night and harrassed me constantly all evening to the point of tears. They left before the first encore, thank goodness.

I've seen concerts in three different countries (England, Canada, USA) and these things have happened in all three countries, and not just at Paul shows, mind you. I witnessed a near fight at a Neil Diamond concert, for goodness' sake. :

I gotta hear this...what happened at Neil...

People scrambling to see who could get to the the exits first?

You got that right bunwhisper, there are a ton of rude and obnoxious folks out there today. Frankly, I never miss a minute of any of Paul's shows. Dont go on food or beer runs at all. I am there to see a concert, not to eat, drink, and be (ha) merry. I've had to ask a couple of people to be quiet in a nice way. Got cussed out, etc for my efforts.

                        bunwhisper:

Chalk it up to a much ruder society these days. People are so self-centered, they dont care about anyone else but themselves. Like my loutish neighbors with their screaming kids who are outside from morning til night. They have lots of money, I would not be surprised to see them at a Paul show with screaming kids in tow. Just because they can. And if you ask people like this to quiet their kids down, they look at you like you are a big b*tch. Those are precisely the kind of people that can ruin anything--be it a Paul concert, a Broadway play or a neighborhood! I read an article the other day by some New Yorker magazine theater critic who was watching a play and some woman started jabbering on her cell phone DURING the play! He asked her to shut up and she did not, so he grabbed the phone and threw it down the aisle! LOL More of us should be like him!

A lot of the behavior is a result of an increasing narcissistic society when you come across someone who wants to talk about themselves all through a show, or someone who sits and texts all through a show. Why go to the show at all? I'm sure a lot of those same people are the ones who ask others around them to take a photo of them with their phones with Paul in the background on the stage. The drinking and dope smoking to oblivion is just beyond my comprehension. Why not just stay home and watch the dvd and get p*ssed in the comfort of your own home and not risk a DUI. However, be kind to some people sitting. A friend of mine going to the Texas shows this coming week has a neuromuscular condition, he has a really good floor seat and will not be able to stand the whole show. He hasn't seen Paul play live since 1976 and insisted on getting this ticket. So not everyone who is sitting is capable of standing the whole show.

gnome, +1! I hate dealing with drunks at concerts and sporting events as well. Like you stated, why go to a concert if you aren't interested in the least bit in the music.

I hate being going in and out for beer. I do not leave & do not like being constantly interrupted. I can no longer stand for the entire concert, but I will not ask you to sit down. I will tell you, not ask you, to put your huge signs down so I can see.

Mostly the folks around me were good in Orlando last night. But it would bother me when beer runs would happen (mostly when non-Beatles songs would come on). I was getting offended on Paul's behalf when I'm sure he probably doesn't care. I was the only one "woooing" for "Band on the Run." Also, I couldn't stand because the folks around me weren't standing (I do try to think of others around me at a concert). I think part of that was due to the fact that the 200s sections are very steep at the Amway, so folks (including me) might have been afraid of falling. And smartphones are great (and I pulled mine out a few times) but some people kept theirs out almost the whole concert and that's also very distracting. At least for me.

I hate being going in and out for beer. I do not leave & do not like being constantly interrupted. I can no longer stand for the entire concert, but I will not ask you to sit down. I will tell you, not ask you, to put your huge signs down so I can see.

And that's respectful behavior on your part. You're not infringing on anyone's good time, and just ask that they extend the same courtesies to you. I wish all folks were as nice.
