Concert Rudeness

...be kind to some people sitting. A friend of mine going to the Texas shows this coming week has a neuromuscular condition, he has a really good floor seat and will not be able to stand the whole show. He hasn't seen Paul play live since 1976 and insisted on getting this ticket. So not everyone who is sitting is capable of standing the whole show.
Thank you for asking others to be kind and tolerant to those who may have special needs. I'm going to the Austin show and am in a wheelchair. Even though I have really good floor tickets, I'm somewhat concerned because I can't stand at all. I hope those around me will be kind enough to sit some of the time so I can see. Never the less, it's going to be a great show in a great venue and I'm really excited about going!

That is downright ridiculous... not to stray off topic but...how were Mike & Bruce, MrsProudSooner? Any interesting setlist info?
I can't think of anything they left out, but I'm sure they must have left something out. The most surprising thing to me was that they sang Good Vibrations. Below is the set list from a couple of weeks ago. This is pretty much what they did Saturday night except they sang 'Okie from Muskogee' as one of the encore songs. It was fun a fun song to hear. Do It Again Little Honda Catch a Wave It's OK Surf City (Jan & Dean cover) Surfin' Safari Surfer Girl I Can Hear Music (The Ronettes cover) Why Do Fools Fall in Love (Frankie Lymon & The Teenagers cover) When I Grow Up (to Be a Man) Darlin' Don't Worry Baby Little Deuce Coupe 409 Shut Down I Get Around The Warmth of the Sun God Only Knows Good Vibrations California Dreamin' (The Mamas & the Papas cover) Sloop John B California Girls Wouldn't It Be Nice Kokomo Help Me, Rhonda Rock and Roll Music (Chuck Berry cover) Do You Wanna Dance? (Bobby Freeman cover) Barbara Ann (The Regents cover) Surfin' U.S.A. Encore: Wild Honey Fun, Fun, Fun

.... being wild! crazy! having a good time is you right~ if you just want to sit & watch .. stay home.. watch a vid~
I have to say i totally disgree with this statement. I have been to about 40 Macca concerts and hundreds of concerts in general, i dont dance, scream, shout or jump about, i just appreciate live music and love the atmosphere. why does that make me wrong and mean i should stay at home? Are you saying people that scream and go wild have more rights to be there than me?

Saturday in Orlando, The seats where so close there was almost no room to get by..you had to stand up everytime some wanted thur!! And yes ppl were getting up to go get food, drinks, bathroom break, whatever. Then we all had to stand up to let them thur again. One time the woman hit the woman beside me in the face!! I felt so bad for her(the woman who got hit) also, ppl were bringing food back to the seats..WHAT?!! BIG TUBS OF POPCORN!! WHAT IS THIS? THE MOVIES?!! And those seats
I would have gotten up for the really good parts but I felt that if I were to lose my balance..I would end up falling on at least five rows of ppl!! SCARY!!

A lot of the behavior is a result of an increasing narcissistic society when you come across someone who wants to talk about themselves all through a show, or someone who sits and texts all through a show. Why go to the show at all? I'm sure a lot of those same people are the ones who ask others around them to take a photo of them with their phones with Paul in the background on the stage. The drinking and dope smoking to oblivion is just beyond my comprehension. Why not just stay home and watch the dvd and get p*ssed in the comfort of your own home and not risk a DUI. However, be kind to some people sitting. A friend of mine going to the Texas shows this coming week has a neuromuscular condition, he has a really good floor seat and will not be able to stand the whole show. Thank-you for pointing out the fact some ppl can't stand during the songs. I couldn't 'cause I have a balance problem, if I tried to stand up w/ nothing to hold on to I could fall-possibly land on the five rows in front!! I didn't have a floor seat..

Nah -- we made the best of it: We saw those as opportunities for free drinks. We sucked our shirts. ("bah-duh-bump!")

It's talkers that drive me round the bend. People that need to have LOUD CONVERSATIONS about stupid stuff during quiet songs or even during rockers. Like they are in a bar trying to shout over the music playing on the jukebox or the bar band.
:
: as for beer runs, excessive ones are annoying because they lead to excessive bathroom breaks, too.
: Not to keep bringing up Springsteen
, but during one of his solo acoustic tours, they actually did not sell food or drinks during the concert itself; you could buy stuff before the show started, but not during. That kept most people in their seats for most of the gig.

It's not the beer itself, but the fact of being interrupted during a show because people have to pass by and block my view of the stage each time they go in and out, in and out, in and out, to buy their beer! Those people are barely seeing the concert anyway because they are getting up so often, that I think they are the ones that need to stay home and watch that DVD, with a big case of beer!

Especially when I paid $1500 in St. Louis and one one beer was done, the two guys had to get in my way and go get another one. Also, I do not appreciate beer spilled on my just purchased program. I've had that happen also.

Beer Runs all night. Cigarette Smoking. Talking throughout the show. I have experienced all these things at Paul's concerts, and I know others have too. The amount of rudeness and downright disrespect towards other people at concerts nowadays is appalling!
Comments anyone? Disagree? Vent!
Luckily i haven't had that issue at any of my Paul gigs, but it has happened at other shows. I did have the joy of a woman giving a running commentary through Rockshow at the Cinema last week, luckily i was with a friend or my fist might have found it's way down her throat, appalling consideration.
It's just how it is these days in society, "long as i'm okay" sod everybody else.

Some people are allergic to second hand cigarette smoke. Not to mention it's illegal to smoke in the venues. So who should stay home if you can't stop smoking for two or three hours and poisoning everyone else's air?
