US Tour '05

Saw four shows that tour- the two in Boston, and the first two at MSG in New York. Many great moments, front row of the limo watch in Boston as Paul drove by (briefly on the DVD), Getting Paul to holler back at my screaming after Drive My Car the first night in NYC (I was back on the floor), but the best was the second night in Boston, sneaking up from my center floor seat, second section back, up the the third row for the last encore (running past security in the dark), and pointing at Paul 3 times during Please Please Me "as *I* *please* *you*, and Paul pointing back. I acted like a teenage girl at Shea Stadium after that. She Came In Through The Bathroom Window at Madison Square Garden. To this day I can remember the crowd singing the line "Didn't anybody teeeeellllllll her".

The 2005 tour had a great setlist. I would have loved to see "Please Please Me" live.
Same. The best we got was "The Space Between Us".

Me too!

Paul, how about playing "Please Please Me" again? Many fans want it!

Before that, it needs to be Uncle Albert or Silly Love Songs. Please Please Me would rock and I think it would go GREAT in the second encore, replacing Helter Skelter.

Triplets Love Paul:
Gift of a lifetime...
I'm so glad we got to see that concert with your triplets making their debut! The 05 tour was my favorite,we met some interesting fans, and heard some great songs!! My son saw his first McCartney concert on that tour, he was 8. My avatar picture on the left was taken in the hotel in Dallas in 05 before the concert, great memories

Was able to see two shows from the '05 Tour...Philadelphia and New York. Really great set list and program! Highlight was during the Philly show, seeing "the triplets on stage with Paul"...I believe that started the stage invites on later tours.
-
Definitely my favorite tour and the first one I've attended abroad. Great setlist with lot of surprises. And the triplets of course, that was fun too!

We were at that show! Met you guys before the concert and told you how awesome the kids' costumes were . We were so happy for them when Paul brought them on stage!

Tell me your experience! What was your favorite part? Any special memories?
I won my tickets off the radio for answering a Paul trivia question as well as being the 8th caller to the radio station. My husband and I saw Paul here in Phoenix when he played Jobing.com Arena the night before Thanksgiving 2005. We had seats just above the stage and could see everything. He looked and sounded so awesome and I was in heaven I'd say "Live and Let Die" was one of the big highlights for us. We loved the pyrotechnics used for that song. Another song I loved was "Please Please Me"...one of my all time faves. Paul's band jelled so well with him and the concert was fantastic! I surely hope to get the chance to see him again!

Great show with the best setlist!

Anita WINS LOL
In truth, our entire family won! We were profoundly affected and are forever changed by Paul's generosity of spirit and kindness of heart.
KingMacca:
Doesn't get any better than that! Congratulations. Paul really is a great guy. He makes sure every fan leaves happy. Because after every concert, we FLOAT out of the venue. Thanks for sharing such a lovely look inside the generosity of such an icon. Again, congrats. Love it!
Thanks so much! We wholeheartedly agree, Paul is incredibly generous and this is just a small glimpse through a window of his kindhearted soul...absolutely AMAZING!!!

Our favorite tour as well, Phil! Sooooo much fun!!! Your son was absolutely adorable in his Sgt. Pepper suit! The beauty is that we will always have our lovely memories of these wonderful moments shared with our children. Hope you had a great time in St. Louis!!!

Aww, thanks so much, Joe! Paul was AMAZING that night!!! What a joy for all of us in attendance to see Paul interacting so personally with his audience! That evening felt more like a party that Paul was hosting rather than a concert - a night to remember!!!

Thought I'd rekindle this thread, I hope the new tour will feature the surprises that this tour did!! And Anita, I hope your kids get a second chance!

Hmmm, what are the odds of winning the lottery twice, about three trillion to one? Well, if there is one thing that Paul personally taught my triplets, it is that anything is possible! Hope you are able to see Paul whilst he is Out There and find that he has wonderful surprises in store for you.

I think my favorite moment was my wife buying me a ticket to the second night in Boston because on the first night, we had brought our (then) 6 year old daughter and I was 'forced' to leave after the main show and before the encore...I think my wife realized how much that bothered me (although as a parent, you gotta do what you gotta do)...so she came through and instead of being 'ripped off' (so to speak) a Paul McCartney encore, I get an entire bonus show that I had no plans of attending (and I stayed to the very last second and beyond that night)...but for better or worse, I was on my own for that second show...suddenly missing that one encore didn't feel so bad...LOL

Does anybody have any footage of the ending of the pre show film into Magical Mystery Tour?? It was so overwhelming when it happened, that I don't remember the curtain beginning to rise. Paul just seemed to have appeared on stage as the curtain was already in the process of rolling up before the lights turned on as the 3, 2, 1 countdown was already happening. I just want to see how exactly it happened. In the Space Within Us, they don't show the seconds before. It's all edited together perfectly to the actual start of Magical Mystery Tour.

"I'll Get You" and "Please Please Me" were the highlights for me. I managed to avoid learning the setlist beforehand (no easy accomplishment) and was blown away. Hopefully we will be in for similar surprises this month (admittedly I'm Beatle biased).
Ditto - saw him in Washington, DC and it was my second time seeing him (4 now total). Of all four shows I think this one stands out as best and primarily b/c of these two songs. Just a great set list in general. In Spite of All the Danger was another highlight.
