Text Me (phone number) at concerts

I went to the Orlando show and before the concert on the big screens were the words.... Text Me (phone number). I did the text and got a responce from someone claiming to be Paul. The text also incourages being on this message board. I also got a request for pictures I took from the concert. Anybody else do this and was there anything else you may experienced?

He started doing this in 2019. My friend and I both texted a message to the number. Now we get text greetings on every holiday and other info too. It's cool! (Needless to say it's his people at MPL sending the texts!)
P.S. Just curious if you know you spelled karaoke wrong?

I spelled it way because of way too many people use it, Kareoke stands out.
