This may be the first list of this type that I actually respect. The choices are thoughtful, the comments intelligent. There are some choices I disagree with -- no "Wanderlust"? Seriously? -- but this is an interesting read, which is more than you can say about 95% of lists like this.

I may disagree with some of the choices (Temporary Secretary, Coming Up) and I would have included other songs but the list was well done and the comments showed the author actually had a clue about McCartney's entire career. "Wanderlust" is one omission but I can't imagine not including  at least one of the many great songs from CHAOS (Too Much Rain, Riding To Vanity Fair, How Kind Of You, Fine Line etc) on the list. I was thrilled to see some of the songs I have said I wish Paul would do live like "Little Willow", "Slidin" and "That Was Me" included.

Freakin wow, that is awesome. I can't remember the last time I heard a Paul solo song on the radio. Anytime I hear him on the radio if it is not a Beatle song, it is one of the Wings hits.

Hey Yankeefan...I finally got home from our vacation to the Canadian Rockies.  I read that some people call the Canadian Rockiies the "Alps of North America" and after being in areas like Banff, Lake Louise and Jasper,  I have to agree.  But no matter how great "bucket lists" can be, it's always great to get home.

As far as this list...it was interesting to see a "greatest Paul List" that included Beatles, Wings and Solo.  There are so many great songs covering that spectrum that 80 doesn't seem enough.  Looking at the list, I coudn't believe that the author forgot "I Want to Hold Your Hand".  It's understandable when the man has written or cowritten so many.

I liked the fact that the writer pushed back some of the "big" singles like Hey Jude, Let It Be, Long and Winding Road on his list.  At the same time, some of my all time great Paul and Beatle songs like Here There and Everyshere, For No One, Eleanor Rigby, Got to Get You into My Live, I'm Looking Through You, Golden Slumbers, and Two of Us moved way up on the list.

But like Bruce said, these kind of lists are always so subjective.  How could you do a list of Paul's greatest 80 songs and not incude Wanderlust?  As usual, Paul's solo career (especially from the last 20 years was so shortchanged.  As Yankeefan said, no songs from Chaos and Creation!  And where are the great songs from Egypt Station or even McCartney 3.  Where is Dominoes or I Don't Kow?  Where is Seize the Day or Find My Way?  Where is Early Days, Alligator, or New?  Where is My Valentine?  Where is Ever Present Past, House of Wax or The End of the End?

It was nice that the writer included Here Today and Ballroom Dancing but where are the best songs on Tug of War like Wanderlust, Tug of War (the title cut), Take It Away or Somebody Who Cares?  And how can the writer include "The Song We Were Singine" and not incude some of the best songs on Flaming Pie like Calico Skies, Somedays, Yound Boys and Beautiful Night.  Well at least he included LIttle Willow and Souvenir.

Because Paul's Solo career has been so underrated (partly Paul's own fault), I would rather see a list of 80 songs that are all Solo Songs.  So many great Paul Solo songs are not on this list.  But as Bruce said, it is in general a pretty good list.

Hey Yankeefan, I owe you a PM and will include some of the great pictures we took on our Canadian Rockies trip.

                Take care guys.

I agree with BJ and I would rather see a ranked list of non-Beatle songs even though I know list would be listed with basically everything off BOTR -lol. Including the Beatle songs in a list excludes so many great songs which you have mentioned. Of course, these lists are subjective and we all have our favorites. Personally, I would have loved the "Take It Away" podcast guys  to have done a list before Ryan sadly died.  They were really into Paul's solo career and I think their list would have been very interesting.

BJ - If you can, please send any pictures of your trip to my email address. Thanks
