REVOLVER: The Next Deluxe/Remix

My brother got me this set as an early Christmas present. I haven't listened to the Sessions CDs yet, just the main album and the Paperback Writer/Rain single. I have a decent stereo, though definitely not state of the art, and I can certainly hear the difference. Sometimes it's a little jarring, actually, but you can definitely hear specific instruments way more clearly. I'm about halfway through the book that comes with it, which is really fascinating.
What this does overall is remind me what a jaw-droppingly great album "Revolver" is. The artistic distance they traveled in just 3 years is mind-boggling. Oh, and the U.S. version that Capitol first gave us is an abomination.

@marshall I love the old fashioned 60s stereo, especially now we have Walkman MP4 Players. I love how you can close down one speaker and hear, say, drums and Paul singing in one speaker, then close down that speaker, turn up the other one, and hear piano and George's guitar ( or something)

My brother got me the remastered "Revolver" deluxe set for an early Christmas present. A) It reminds me what a mind-blowing album this was (and what an abomination the abbreviated U.S. Capitol Records release was), and B) The studio sessions with different versions of the songs as they were evolving is fascinating. It's easy to think of these songs as so perfect they must have been handed down on stone tablets by Moses, but of course there was a long process of figuring out what they should sound like. These young guys were pretty good.
