Paul McCartney 2023 Rumors

I have always thought that doing a "final tour" is stupid because it stops you from ever being able to do another tour.
Why stop your revenue source? -

this is probably fake (spelling mistakes !) but hopefully a grain of truth in there somewhere (rumours been going around all week about an upcoming tour !)
I hope it isn't true. I hate the thought that Paul might be doing his last ever tour, even if I know he's getting to the age where he'll have to retire.

He will probably never announce a “final tour” like others have. He’ll just keep on until he keels over on stage!

I actually wish Paul would stop touring. With a voice that's just a shadow of what it was, at 80 it's time to hang it up. It's okay, nothing lasts forever. I wish he would stay in the studio where he can maximize the sound quality and give us one or two more albums while he still can.

I totally agree, but you know he won’t do it. He will tour until he physically and/or mentally absolutely can’t do it anymore.

Oh, we're in complete agreement there. He'll keep going till he drops dead or literally becomes too physically infirm to do it -- the man obviously lives for performing. As someone who's done a bit of theater in my day, I totally get it. But I'm old enough to remember Muhammad Ali's last couple of fights and wishing he'd hung it up a couple years earlier.

Just seen on Twitter a post saying “ Sign up to the PaulMcCartney.com newsletter to receive info on the latest news, releases, tour dates and much more
”
I know it’s been said before but surely with the tour rumours & this something’s afoot? -
@gordy-js Or it could just be that someone on Paul's staff simply copied and pasted old language into a new announcement without updating it. And since he certainly hasn't ruled out future tours, it's probably the safe move, but I wouldn't take it as proof that something is imminent.

Why stop your revenue source?Didn't stop Frank Sinatra or Status Quo. I think Frank retired about 4 times. And Quo did a farewell tour in 1984, and they are still touring now.

Yes I too wish he would stop. It breaks my heart to hear his voice now. Why is it the all time greats never know when to retire. Its been a fantastic journey, but its now time to hang up his guitar. I was going to say, if he wants to play his local pubs, or clubs, for say, £5 or something on the door, then that might be OK. But the big arena rock venus at £100 or more a ticker, well to be blunt, just isn't value for money now, it has to be said. I guess some fan's just want him to go on and on no matter how his voice is. I'm not one of those fan's I'm afraid. Also by carrying on now his voice is faltering, he is in danger of damaging THE greatest legacy in rock history. And who remembers that black and white interview he did in around 1964, where he said ( something like) "oh I can't imagine we will still be singing She Loves You at 40, when we will be old men". Ah! Out of the mouths of babes, and err, well whatever that saying is.
