I think Paul should do a skit like the carpool thing in which or during which he walks up and asks strangers for their autograph. Yeah, man, that would be cool.
Even cooler, and this will NEVER happen, imagine watching a show and when the commercials on, you just catch Paul in the background. One half of a second. He's playing the guitar in a commercial, a commercial for veggies, skin cream, whatever, and bingo, WTF? That would be sweet. It's cheeky. That's cool.

@evergreen1288 I think they missed a trick in the movie 'YESTERDAY'. They shoulda asked Paul and Ringo to play cameos. Paul as a busker outside a public toilet playing Ed Shearan songs. And Ringo as the toilet attendant telling Paul to shut up & clear off making all that noise. I think they would have loved doing it, and the fans woulda loved it too
-
@wandy Yeah, that would have been a hoot to see P & R in “Yesterday!”
-
@wandy I think the movie "Yesterday" should have had a different ending. The main character should have tried looking for ALL of the Beatles, not just John, and got them together to make their music again.
After getting them all together, the movie could end with them having a concert in a large stadium, with the lead character of the movie telling the world the Beatles had written the songs and they needed to be given the credit for them.... and then end with them playing Hey Jude over the closing credits.

But Leslie, in the movie, John, Paul, George & Ringo lived totally different lives! They were not famous musicians and songwriters in their lives. They only were in the main character’s mind and those 2 other people. The upside was that John was still alive.
-
@ladyleslie I wasn't happy with the version of "John" at the end of the movie. That John was the 1968 White album John. John Lennon had moved on from that "look" by a long way.
-
@njr Yes I guess we all have our own ideas of how the movie should end, and all our endings are credible. I just wish Paul and Ringo had done a cameo. They woulda had a blast

Who’s to say what John’s “look” would have been had he lived to 78 or 80?

I agree about the cameos!
-
@njr Yup. Agreed. To have John still alive today Ida been happy to have him styled on Britany Spears in full make up.

I don’t know that I’d go that far, but I get where you’re coming from!

Hey, what would you say if a movie came out about Paul and Ringo in the past? The look on their faces when they see their double.
Paul and Ringo will be the only ones who know what happened and therefore know the future of the Beatles. What do you think Paul and Ringo would do? -

I understand what you're saying Nancy, but even though (in the movie) most of the world had never heard of the Beatles, that doesn't mean that the Beatles didn't know each other in that ignorant world... and could have written music when they were younger. Would have been nice if the story had them finding each other again and creating music and the lead character in the movie could have explained what happened to him, and them etc, and apologized for taking credit for their music, even if they didn't understand and thought he was crazy
-
@wandy I thought the actor (Robert Carlyle) did a spectacular job as John, and thought that's probably how he would have looked. He was a free spirit and would never have had short cropped college professor hair
It's interesting to think though, how long would John survived, if he hadn't been shot.... Would he even have been alive in 2019? He was a heavy smoker and there always would have been the risk of heart disease or lung cancer.
-
@ladyleslie I actually "wrote" a story ( in my head) of my version of what would have happened if John had been shot, BUT LIVED. It starts with John being rushed into the NY Hospital, alive but just "clinging on". 45 mins later the surgeon comes out and has to tell Yoko John has died. She can't handle it and falls to the floor screaming "JOHN"!!! John hasn't died but his pulse is so low they think he's died. He hears Yoko scream and his pulse beats stronger, and stronger, to the point where they can save him ( fade to black) fade up again, John is sitting up in bed and though extremely ill is making progress. He stays in hospital 18 months, and is eventually allowed home. 3 yrs of convalescence goes by and John plans a world tour. First live performances since the 1970s. He initially starts off ok, but he can no longer stand for too long. So he performs onstage sitting down. Sadly, Yoko has a heart attack and dies. What with John not happy with his performance and Yoko dying, John abandons his tour. He struggles living in the Dakota building and Paul offers him a home on his Sussex Estate in England. John takes Paul's offer. This reunion with Paul REALLY boosts John's recovery, so much so he proposes to Paul they do a 25th anniversary concert on the Apple roof top. Paul loves the idea. George and Ringo too. Unfortunately Billy Preston had died so they ask Elton John to play keyboards. Elton readily agrees. Rehearsals start. All the Beatles are fired up, and eventually the concert is announced. Tickets are a free giveaway on the Internet. First come. First served. The Internet goes into complete melt down, ticket demand is off the scale. On the day of the concert all the streets around London's Savile Row are gridlocked. The police begin to think its getting too dangerous, but they also think if the show is cancelled there will be a riot. Eventually 3 hours after the show was supposed to start it actually does start. The opening number is One After 909. At the end of that song my film ends. Fades to black. Rolls credits.

@wandy Wow! What an imagination. I've been imagining stories of John and George coming back to the living. But you have me glued.

@littlewillow some ppl say that I'm a dreamer. But I'm not the only one. Now the serious stuff. How do we raise the funds for my "film" JOKING!!
I was just having fun ( well as far as you can hsve fun over such a serious subject ) I created my "story" in just 20 mins, many years ago. I was coming home from London's Oxford Street and it takes about 20 mins to do that journey to my home station, and I couldn't stop "writing" it. It was just continuous. Sentence after sentence after sentence. It wasn't difficult in any way shape or form. All done and dusted on a 20 min train journey. Strange day indeed. Most peculiar mama.

That makes more sense! They still would have known each other, for sure.

@wandy Great story, and interesting premise! You should try to get it published as a book, and if it's successful, it could be optioned into a movie!

@ladyleslie if I had the money I could probably do it myself. I make films as a hobby. I made a documentary about the beatles life and times I London. 72 mins. Would send you a copy BUT its made using the British dvd format. Unless you have a dual dvd player ude have to get it converted to be able to play it unfortunately.
