I would like to thank you for letting me join your group.
Sir Paul,
I have been listning to the Beatles since I was 5. I was born in 65 and my sister was 12 years older than me so when she babysat me that's all I heard LoL! Yellow Submarine I remember well from back then, I wanna Hold your Hand, Here, There and Everywhere and Help, along with all your other hits.
In the 70s it was your group Wings I loved so much, they would blast out Band On the Run, Jet, Uncle Albert etc. at our local swimming pool, and in the 80s I remember Say Say Say with Michael Jackson and you even appeared in an MTV video with Tracy Ullman. The 80s were kind of a blur as I was a teen , but your music has always been a part of my life. You are a treasure and a beautiful, talented man. And I don't know if you will see this or not but it would be a great honor if you did.
Take care. Your fans here all love you! -
@kat65 Welcome kat! You’re 10 years younger than me, but one of my best friends is 12 years younger and is a huge Beatles/Paul fan. We met in early 2012 on a Beatles cruise and since then have been on 2 other Beatles cruises, several times at Abbey Road On The River festival, a 5-day all-inclusive Beatles festival at the Hard Rock Hotel in Riviera Maya, Mexico in 2014, The Fest For Beatles Fans in Chicago in 2019 and went to Liverpool for August Beatleweek + London in 2016 and 2022. We also saw Paul together in 2019 in Greenville, SC (she lives in Nashville) She saw Paul in Chicago and met up with oobu24 (we all 4 met up in 2019 at The Fest FBF) Another boardie on here, Lady Leslie, and I have been to AROTR together in Sept. 2021 and to Fab Fest in Charlotte, NC in July 2021. (plus the 2019 Fest For Beatles Fans)
Do you collect Beatles memorabilia and records? We both have extensive collections, especially my friend who is 12 years younger! -
This post is deleted! -
@njr That's wonderful! Have you met Paul in person? No I don't have an extensive collection but I'm working on it! I hope to see Paul and /or Ringo this year if they decide to tour but would like to go with other Beatle fans.
-
@kat65 No, meeting Paul in person is on my bucket list, but I’m afraid it will never happen. ️ I also only saw Ringo in concert once, in 1997 with a friend from work. (in Atlanta) and saw George in 1974 in Atlanta with my boyfriend Paul! He also saw Macca with me in 1976! (Paul & Nancy - how prophetic!) When I saw Paul in 2013, 2014 & 2017 I went alone because I got the Hot Sound Package for $1500/$1600 that included soundcheck, dinner, VIP lanyard, merchandise and a front & center 3rd/4th row seat. Nobody else I knew would pay that kind of money!
Please re-read my previous post as I edited it.Nancy

@njr You've done alot better than me, at least you've got to see them. I ready wish I was born closer to my sister's age so we could have road tripped to one of the bigger cities like NY in the late 60s and seen all 4 of them in concert. She told me they never played in Chicago.
Seeing Paul even just once before I die is definitely a priority. If there's a concert this year, I need to go! -

I was only 11 in 1966 and begged my mom to take me to Cleveland Stadium to see them! She said “We’ll go next year.” Well of course they never toured again and I’ve never let her live it down (she’s 92 now!)

I am very glad to join this forum. I remember as a little boy (probably 6 years old- maybe 1972 or there about) playing the something new album.
I took a box and put a mop handle in it to be my microphone And a broom was guitar. I was singing along… been a Beatle fan ever since.
I ditched school in 1985 because a friend heard a rumor that Paul was in Manhattan. I took my McCartney II album and waited for a few hours and out he came from the building! What a gentleman- signed my album (as did Linda). Was a very special day for me.
What a talented, gifted human being -
@dannyr Wow! Danny you are so lucky! Did you live in or near Manhattan then? I’ve been a fan since Dec. 1963 when I was 8 and heard “I Want To Hold Your Hand” on the radio!

Hi everyone.
I thought rather than start a new thread, I'd just piggyback on this one!
I'm a huge Beatles and McCartney fan and have lurked on this forum for years. I figured it was time to actually say hello!
To my shame I've never been to a full concert of any of the Beatles. But I did get to see Sir Paul last year at the Taylor Hawkins tribute concert at Wembley. I'm a man in his 40s, but when he came on stage, I screamed like a teenage girl in 1964.
Anyway, nice to meet you all!

Nice to meet you too! I assume you are British since you went to Wembley?
I cracked up over your comment about screaming like a teenage girl in 1964!Nancy
