Got separate tickets for the talk/Q&A by Freda Kelly (“Good Ole Freda”) on Sun. Aug. 27th 2-3pm. The convention at the Adelphi is the same day, but her talk us at Roag Best’s Liverpool Beatles Museum (which I also bought a ticket to for the 24th) which is within walking distance, so I’ll go back to the convention afterwards.
The Beatles tribute band, The Fab Four (My favorite!) are playing Sat. the 26th at 8pm at Philharmonic Hall. First time I ever saw them was there in 2011!
I got the Gold Package as I have done twice in the past so I can get into everything, including The Cavern Club & The Cavern Pub. They have bands playing from about 11am to God only knows!

Here’s “Good Ole Freda” with Paul circa 1963 and sometime in the 21st century! I first saw her at Abbey Road On The River around 2012 and she looked pretty much like that.

I fly to Manchester tomorrow, arriving real early on the 23rd and take train to Liverpool. Paid £25 extra for early check-in!
The weather won’t be very good (intermittent rain every day and highs only in the 60s) Quite a change from the 90s that feel like 102 here near Atlanta!
Meeting up at hotel with 4 friends who are now in London. Another couple is staying closer to The Cavern.

Well, of course I got Covid, as did practically everyone I know who was there, but it’s just a stuffy nose and slight cough (no fever)
I still have to transfer photos via email to get them on my iPad! But here’s one (I didn’t take) of Paul’s lead guitarist in Wings 1978-1981, Laurence Juber, who was inducted into the Beatleweek Hall Of Fame for performing there for 40 years.

I think I got it on the 28th at Grand Central Hall. The guy next to me was blowing his nose and didn’t look well. I attribute my 4th booster on July 20th to my very mild case. All sorts of people got it too, but mostly mild cases. It was worth it! And no, did not wear a mask during Beatleweek. Didn’t last year either, but we didn’t catch Covid!
