Can anyone remember my post from many years ago?
-
I actually joined this website (I think) a long time ago, but only for 15 minutes just to post one thing and then I never came back until just a couple of months ago.
I'm trying to ascertain how long ago that was. I can't even pinpoint it. It could have been 2005 or 2010, I really have no idea. I wonder if any veteran macca members who have been here since the beginning might remember my post. It was a new idea at the time and I may have gotten it from talk show host Craig Kilborn (he hosted the Late Late Show between 1999 and 2004). Anyway he did this thing where he compared Paul McCartney to Angela Lansbury, and he would put up photos of the two of them side by side. Even by then which is some 20 years ago, Paul was already beginning to look like her. So my post was just doing the same thing -- I put up photos of both of them as a lark. Does anyone remember that? And if you do can you pinpoint the year? Thanks
P.S.: Or was there another "Macca" site ~20 years ago?

@fast-city-line I’ve only been around here since 2011 (the site has been here since 2002) but I remember someone somewhere, either here or on FB comparing Paul to Angela Lansbury. I may have even seen the Craig Ferguson (not Kilborn) show. Found this with quick Google search:
Apr 30, 2009 — On the Late Show With Craig Ferguson, Shirley Manson simply can't get out of her head that Paul McCartney looks like Angela Lansbury.
And this:
Oct 12, 2022 — "Do we have a picture of Paul McCartney" (Craig Ferguson's long-running joke about Angela Lansbury)

There used to be a few Macca Yahoo groups. Now long gone. But yeah, I've seen that picture around in many places.

Yeah, Ferguson did it also, but Kilborn as far as I know started that comparison (he preceded Ferguson as host of that same show).

Oh! I didn’t realize Ferguson took over for Kilborn.

Yeah, Kilborn "retired" early. On his last show in 2004, he opened a $1,000 bottle of whiskey and shared it with his last guest (whom I can't remember and can't find online)
