On Halloween I saw Johnny Marr play at the House of Blues at Downtown Disney. Great, great, great show. He had a fantastic band behind him and his voice was in fine form. It was also his 50th birthday so everyone sang 'Happy Birthday', and there was marriage proposal right before Marr played 'There Is a Light That Never Goes Out'. Highly recommend seeing him if anyone gets the chance.

RE: Coming Soon... Recommend and Discuss Theater/Cinema Films
Man of Steel is my most anticipated movie of the year. The cast is great, the script is written by Christopher Nolan and David Goyer (Batman Begins), and directed by Zack Snyder so it's guaranteed to look amazing. Trailer #3:
The next Hobbit movie also sounds promising; hopefully the length is cut down for this one, though. -
RE: RIP...for all that have passed
Today hasn't been a good day. Carmine Infantino, co-creator of The Flash and Batgirl, plus a major driving force behind the Silver Age of comics, passed away today at the age of 87. RIP The best penciller ever.

RE: General Television Talk
I've really been enjoying New Girl this season, I think it's been infinitely better than Modern Family, which I feel sunk into mediocrity with this current season. Young Justice and Green Lantern: The Animated Series were both great cartoons. It's a shame Cartoon Network seems to like canceling shows that are both critically acclaimed and draw a big amount of viewers. : Also, Red Eye w/Greg Gutfeld is a gem of a show.

RE: Today's Mainstream Music
I'm in agreement with Nigel. There is SO much great music being made in this day and age. It seems like everyday now I'm discovering a new indie band or singer that is absolutely phenomenal. They key is finding the right stuff and looking from there. Kimbra (I can't give her enough praise) and The Stepkids are just two of my favorites that are both knocking it out of the park currently.

Obama won't build Death Star http://www.opposingviews.com/i/politics/white-house-says-we-won-t-build-death-star Damn, I was looking forward to this. Think of all the jobs. It could have been Obama's greatest achievement. I guess now they care about the deficit.

RE: RIP...for all that have passed
RIP ~ Huell Howser 1945-2013 Don't know how well known he is outside of California, but he was a state treasure here. Never before, and I doubt I will ever see again, a man so friendly and unique, with a genuine interest in the state of California and it's locals. I'm sure God just needed a host for 'Heaven's Gold'. He'll be dearly missed.

It is well-documented that conservative American voters tend to be, let's say, uninformed on -- well -- just about everything. Here's hard evidence -- from the horses' mouths -- demonstrating that they are straight-up ignorant, racist, low-information morons: Stupid Republicans on Obama:
You've veered from the point: My post showcases racist, Republican voters who are extremely misinformed on the issues and this President's policies. Your post, however, showcases voters who are reasonably informed on the issues and this President's policies...but are unaware of NDAA, etc. I'll take Group B over Group A any day of the week. I don't support everything Obama has done. I didn't support just about anything Bush did, but, at least, I know that Bush was a Texan town-drunk and not a secret Muslim from Kenya. See the point now?
The point was misinformed voters and racism. Which is disgustingly being spewed by the left at Sen. Tim Scott. There's extremely misinformed on the left (i.e. a lot Twitter users) and reasonably informed people on the right. But to me, when it comes down to voting, misinformed=misinformed. There is still things the voter doesn't know or wrong about.

Some people put their tree up the day after Thanksgiving but then take it down the day after Christmas. What do you do? We put ours up mid Dec & take it down around 2nd week in Jan...real or fake? We do fake.
My family is the same way except we use a real tree. I'm starting to get that Christmas "feeling" again. The best feeling if you ask me.

As we speak, layoffs and closures are happening. Obamacare is killing jobs, you can continue to deny it, but it is happening.
that may kill jobs but may save lifes It's a matter of priorities.
Okay, so no jobs then.
mustangsally10:
Exactly, they're revenge firings and will backfire on the greedy, lying repubs.
People aren't closing businesses to get revenge. Why, in the name of everything good, would they hurt themselves and they're employes to get revenge. I'm damn sure my uncle didn't close his business to get revenge. It tore him apart to close his business and put all those people out of work.

So much nonsense from angry males
Because the Republican party is made up of just angry white guys. Is that what you're trying to say?

Doris, Just be glad that conservatives -- comprised mostly of self-righteous, low-information voters who foolishly vote against their own interests -- are on the fast-track to extinction... ...as clearly indicated by this recent election.
Why did I imagine giant Sentinels crafted in the image of Harry Reid picking off every last conservative remaining, Days Of Future Past style when I read this post?

The right wing is in meltdown and on this thread it's best to source your remarks to prove that they are indeed related to facts. There are some RW CEOs who had erroneously thought that they could influence the election by stating that they would have to fire employees because of ObamaCares such as the CEO of PapaJohns. The reality is that the CEO of Papajohns says he will give away 2 million pizzas but he won't do anything for his employees healthcare http://www.papajohns.com/twomillionpizza/
http://twitchy.com/2012/11/08/forward-obama-won-had-to-fire-22-employees-small-business-owners-on-twitter-doing-same/ Numerous accounts of small businesses on Twitter closing shop and laying off employees. http://lasvegas.cbslocal.com/2012/11/07/vegas-employer-obama-won-so-i-fired-22-employees/#.UJut6oKlX9o.twitter Actual article of a small business laying off because of Obamacare. I posted these links in my initial post. Maybe you should have checked your facts before you start making wild accusations. It seems the only person being suckered here is you.
Many employers will fire employees would supported Obama no matter how it affects their business check all the links below: [fficial&client=firefox-a&source=hp&channel=np" >https://www.google.com/search?q=business owners will fire employees who voted obama&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-USfficial&client=firefox-a&source=hp&channel=np](https://www.google.com/search?q=business owners will fire employees who voted obama&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US<img src=) they're in meltdown(just like you're in meltdown) because mittens didn't get elected and they're taking it out on employees who voted for Obama...how very republican You may just have to chill and get a grip to give things a chance to calm down there's nothing you can do so give it a break.
Lets lay out two choices here, lets see which one seems more likely. A. Employers are laying off and closing shop doors to get revenge against the President because he won and their candidate lost. In doing this they are either hurting themselves and/or their business. B. Employers are laying off and closing shop because they are hurting already and can't afford Obamacare. They really wish they didn't have to fire people, it's hurts their employes and themselves, but the increasing costs are just too much. And they know a hell lot more about their business than you do. It's ridiculous that you think they're laying off simply to get revenge. These are real people that are struggling, they are not evil or greedy as you would like to think. Your claims are simply baffling.

Not all small business owners will want to keep working. There will be small business owners, who decide to permanently close their doors, retire and not deal with all the new regulations, fines and paperwork headaches. If a business becomes unprofitable and not fun to do anymore, you can?t expect the business owner to keep doing it.
It's already begun, there have been numerous accounts already of closures and layoffs. http://twitchy.com/2012/11/08/forward-obama-won-had-to-fire-22-employees-small-business-owners-on-twitter-doing-same/ http://lasvegas.cbslocal.com/2012/11/07/vegas-employer-obama-won-so-i-fired-22-employees/#.UJut6oKlX9o.twitter
