Lovely to read your reviews. Thanks. Makes me determined to go again when he's in my neighbourhood. I hope Paul is having a good summer holiday now. (And all of you also, of course.)

      Maccagirl61842:

I was lucky enough to meet Paul twice at book signings he did in NYC a few years back. I also lucked out back in November of 2015 when Paul and Nancy snuck into the Gagosian gallery in NY to hear Mary speak at an interview regarding her exhibit of photos alongside of Linda's photos. When the interview was done, Paul and Nancy made their way to the back of the gallery. I was standing a few feet away from Paul and heard him say to Nancy, "picture time, let's go". He clearly didn't want to take the spotlight away from Mary who was preparing to do a book signing. But I was so close and couldn't resist and actually poked him in the shoulder and said his name at the same time. I stuck my hand out and he gave me a smile and shook my hand. I practically had a nervous breakdown after that. The friend I was with was talking to other people and missed the entire episode. But I knew better than to take a photo or ask for an autograph. Living in NY, I've had several close encounters but I never approach him and just enjoy the fact that I have seen him in the flesh up close.

Lovely story, Maccagirl. Thanks. The way you look at it appeals to me. Many years ago I was lucky to see a Wings show in the wings. Paul and Linda passed me and looked at me when walking on and off stage, but we never exchanged a word. The thrill that I experienced then I can still feel when remembering this very special occasion.

      Nancy R:

Are you talking about the Beatles song Hold Me Tight or the (different) Paul song Hold Me Tight?

Yes, Nancy R, I meant the Beatles' Hold Me Tight. Other songs I'd like to see in a show would be That Would Be Something, almost any song from Flaming Pie and Ballroom Dancing. Or Wanderlust.

This may be an unpopular opinion, but I certainly think All My Loving should return to the set

Why unpopular? It's one of the greatest songs. I always love to hear it, whether live or on record. And what about Drive My Car? At times I just crave to hear that song and cannot go on without it ;).

Unpopular opinion on this site, as many of the members here are diehards who long for a fresh setlist with fewer repeats from previous tours. I don't think anyone here actually dislikes songs like All My Loving, Can't Buy Me Love, Drive My Car, etc. It's just that we've been there/done that. Many. Times. And his catalog has so many gems he never touches. So we sometimes get frustrated.

I see, yes, of course you're right. Has he done I'm Looking Through You or Hold Me Tight? P.S. I Love You as an encore...? Then some 'newer' ones, too. Have to think about that.

Yay... BIRTHDAY GIG!!!ð???ð?¾ð??¶ð??ð???ð??ð???ð?°ð??ð??»ð??¶ð??? That's a great idea! Get a big cake and have a surprise guest pop out!!! Lots of confetti too!!!

75...incredible, but I think Paul prefers to celebrate his birthday with just family and close friends. Like most of us do, really. But you never know, maybe a surprise concert somewhere?

    • RE: Help save Paul's voice !!

      Bullion:

Aaron Low is a renowned speech pathologist based in Canada, he was recently asked who he'd like to work with

Whose voice box would you most like to get your hands on? I want to treat Paul McCartney, because I think he's still got it. Singers like McCartney have amazing, genius skills--but they don't exercise their voices. It's not about aging, it's about voice management. My dream is that Paul calls me up and asks if I can make his voice sound youthful, so he can hit the high notes in "Hey Jude" like he used to.

http://torontolife.com/culture/music/aaron-low-speech-pathologist-qa/ I think it would be worthwhile to start a petition to make this meeting happen . . perhaps there's someone here who can reach someone close to him, either someone at Capitol Records or MPL or maybe his manager Scott Rodger of Quest Management/Maverick

Well, that is very interesting, that someone like this Aaron Low has this wish. I believe this man is right and it's not so much about aging, but more about technique.

I get rather tired by the discussions about Paul's voice. It's no news and we know it's true that there are embarrassing moments. But it was a good show and we had a great time. What did strike us was that Paul didn't seem as eager and fresh as usual. Bored would be too much to say....maybe: not in a good mood. The thing he said about people who try to play Blackbird on guitar was not nice. I can't understand why he said it.

same than in Madrid 12 days ago, Paul seems unhappy, or maybe he's angry. I can't imagine why but sometimes he seems upset.

Perhaps Nancy was working in New York with her company?

In Madrid, he said Nancy was in the stadium and he was unhappy.

Of for **** sake... Can you look into his head? Why the hell are you keep telling that he is unhappy.

Because maybe we are a bit worried when we don't see him as happy as usual. People who saw him for the first time noticed it too, you know. Perhaps he was just a little bit tired.

Wonderful that a "giglet" like this is possible. Great to get an impression, thanks, Nobodytoldme. Are you a journalist or what? Or do you simply have lots of time to surf the internet? You seem to get a lot of information from somewhere, despite your name.

He should perform "My Love" tonight.

It would be a nice tribute to Henry. (he passed away today, for those who haven't heard yet.) But I don't think Paul's voice can handle it anymore.

No, I'm afraid not. But perhaps another good song for Henry. No news from Berlin Waldb?hne at the moment?

      servi:

But why add 2 songs then (Ram on and Give peace a chance were not planned) ? GPAC was a crowd pleaser possibly, Ram on was unknown to most in the audience probably. I thought he was quite spontaneous at Pinkpop and concentrated. He did less talking (incl less talking in the language of the country) and there was less "joking" in between and less stories, possibly to be able to play more songs (only 5 songs less in a concert that was 30 minutes shorter). But it is hard to look in someone else's head.......

I can hardly call Ram On and GPAC adding two songs. Ram On is so insignificantly tiny and GPAC is okay, but always too short to be an entire song. You are right about the less 'joking' and fewer stories.

No, Nancy was present. He said that before he started singing My Valentine.
